Ah, I see the problem. It looks like fugitive now assumes the whole 40 character SHA in its fugitive buffer names, but with gv there's only the short SHA used.
If you revert back just this single line, it works: tpope/vim-fugitive@5ba918ea#diff-4c8459efc2f0fea43a9d26047a9e5e06R447
If one wanted to fix this from gv without changing the UI, one could use the full SHA in the ft=GV buffer, but hide the last 33 characters using +conceal.
I'll fire up a PR tomorrow.
