I was looking around to see if anyone had already done the work to write an elasticsearch backend, and voila here one is. But... It's sub 1.0, published once, without any tests, and there haven't been any commits for over a year.

I was curious - what's the project status? Looking over the code, it seems like it's in working condition (though I haven't run it yet). Are there any plans to continue work on this?

Specifically, I was wondering about the dependancies. The hackney, poison, and timex could all become HTTPClient, JSONParser and DateTime adapter files, which could let you loosen the dependancies requirements, while also opening this backend up for SaaS solutions like logz.io, or AWS elasticsearch. (I ask, because I use AWS's solution, and can't expose it via API gateway)

By making these optional deps, you could also add module configuration that automatically grabs each adapter as the default, if present. Existing users could adopt the changes with just a version bump, and no configuration.

If this project still has some life in it, I'd be happy to make a PR to get the ball rolling. If not, I'll move along.
