obsidian-dune84's Issues

Missing icons/characters, fonts not working.

Hello, I just installed this theme on Obsidian v1.5.12 on Arch Linux. And I noticed that some characters, that I assume are icons, are missing in the style settings. I also tried changing the typesets and none of them seemed to work.

This is after selecting the "Poetry" preset:

I am pretty sure this problem comes from my OS, I don't know exacly but it seems like the default fonts have extra symbols not present in the open fonts used by Arch natively.
It would be appreciated if you could provide font requirements to render the theme correctly so I can install them externally.

Thanks for the attention, I will provide any information requested. Great theme BTW.

File names too close to edge

Style Settings > Show ui elements > Show ribbon

When that is disable, the file names are right up against the left edge of the Obs window - not pleasant. If it was by design, please ignore this issue.

[SUGGESTION] Clean embeds

Some people, me included, prefer to have a seamless text experience between original and embedded/transcluded text. The Minimal theme has it as an option, some others do too, I believe.

It might be a feature that is worth your while considering. If you decide against it I will not pout because I have my snippet that does the job perfectly 😀

Files icon hidden

In left sidebar, when the search pane is open, the “files” icon is hidden by the Mac's traffic lights.

[SUGGESTION] Clean embeds

Some people, inc. me, like a seamless UI between the original text and transclusions.
Minimal theme, as well as some others, have it as an option.

Might be worth considering.

Here is my snippet:

If you decide against it, I will not pout but will just continue using my snippet 😀

EDIT: sorry, thought my 1st time round went missing. My apologies.

[FEATURE REQUEST] Show note path in title bar

When that option is enabled, it shows the path without the note title. Is it possible to make an option to show the note title too?

I know there is a separate option for the note title, but I don't like it.

Typesetting alignment

Hi,

Just tried your theme and some setups.

Block is working beautifully to center-align my text (a must for me because -- like German -- Hungarian has some pretty darn long compound words).

I am wondering why this snippet I found on the Obs Forum is not working well in Live Preview mode?

/* reading mode */
.markdown-preview-view p {
	text-align: justify;
	text-justify: inter-word;
}

/* source view and live preview */
.markdown-source-view.mod-cm6. cm-line {
	text-align: justify;
	text-justify: inter-word;
}

More importantly, where is your snippet for Live Preview Block Alignment located?

Cheers,
Z.

Resizing Issues

Resizing the main obsidian window while using this theme causes extreme delays/hangups.

Render issues on windows

I'm on Windows 11, monitor res of 2560x1440 with 100% scaling. Obisidian v1.5.3. Dune v2.5.4.
I wanted to try this theme after seeing you had fixed mermaid embeds. You have at that!
However, I had a number of other issues, hopefully the screenshot is enough to give you an idea of what I found:

  • The left ribbon doesn't appear at all. To back out of the theme I had to edit the appearance.json
  • Top-left file browser collapse button doesn't work
  • Size of the top window title-bar is vertically-challenged and not meeting the windows min/max/close buttons, which is causing the reader/hamburger menu to be partly obscured.
  • Personally, I was finding the font a bit too small/smudgy to use, but that can be changed, and is a personal pref. On the whole, it's a really nice-looking theme

Colored folder

image

I don't understand why the top folder is purple when the one below, Geopolitics, is of equal importance but is not purple, neither are its subfolders.

I don't have a snippet that does that.

I have not found this in the sandboxed vault, only in my real vault, perhaps because I don't have the “right kind of folder” in the sandbox.

If this is not due to your theme, then don't waste time on it.

New dune users

Hello, first of all your theme is very beautiful and I would like some help to optimize small things to my liking.

I'm having problems with the text, it seems that the margin is larger than represented in your images, I'd like to modify it, I've installed a style plugin to help with this, but I'm not succeeding, look at the following image:

Captura de tela 2024-01-07 102042

The visualization is bad, I would like to remove or reduce this margin. Another detail is the coloring, as soon as I activate the Style it changes the coloring of the darkmode, I wanted to keep the pattern.

These are small things that I'm having trouble changing, perhaps because I'm a new Obsidian user.

Thank you in advance, master, and happy new year!

Trouble accessing emojis

Screen.Recording.2023-03-10.at.12.49.26.mov

The vid is supposed to show I am trying to select the 2nd sun from the right in Live Preview. It does not work.

I can only select it when I switch to source code.

Footnotes not displayed on mobile

I installed this theme via the theme browser in Obsidian, and it's super slick, I love it! I noticed that footnotes are not displaying in Read Mode, however, and clicking on the footnote superscripts does not work.

I am running Android 14 with Obsidian 1.5.11.

I tested both inline footnotes and block reference footnotes, neither of which worked.

I disabled community plug-ins, then enabled only the Style Settings plug-in, and neither attempt solved this issue. Better Footnotes is not supported by my device.

Let me know if there is anything else I should try, and thank you!

Note path not shown

Style Settings > Show ui elements > Show note path

Does not show note path when enabled.

Applying the snippet?

Hello,

I'm pretty new to Obsidian and stumbled across this really awesome theme. Great work has been done here!

Here comes my problem:
I don't get how to apply the snippet. I saved the file into the snippet folder and activiated it, but I can't see any folder icons... As I'm writing this I realized, that I actually don't know what I would see then ;D
