abclua's Introduction

Description

Simple ABC parsing for Lua. This library can read a reasonable subset of ABC 2.1 and generate Lua tables representing the song structure.

It can transform ABC source into a token stream, transform a token stream into an ABC string, transform a token stream into an event stream (with timing, repeats expanded etc.), and transform these event streams into MIDI.

Requires:

Optional:

Demo

lua abc_to_midi.lua <file.abc>

See docs/abclua.txt for full documentation.

abclua's Issues

can't make it work

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. installing lua 5.1 or 5.2 through my distribution (linux mint) package system
2. installing lpeg (0.12) through my distribution package system
3. getting abclua 0.2.4 from the download section or from svn

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

I've tried some of the examples given in the doc, but I got those errors:

lua examples/ascii_score.lua tests/tune.abc

lua: /usr/share/lua/5.2/re.lua:183: bad argument #1 to 'f' (lpeg-pattern
expected, got string)
stack traceback:
        [C]: in function 'f'
        /usr/share/lua/5.2/re.lua:183: in function </usr/share/lua/5.2/re.lua:183>
        [C]: in function 'match'
        /usr/share/lua/5.2/re.lua:208: in function 'compile'
        ./src/parse_abc.lua:184: in main chunk
        [C]: in function 'require'
        ./abclua.lua:22: in main chunk
        [C]: in function 'require'
        examples/ascii_score.lua:6: in main chunk
        [C]: in ?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
0.2.4 from the download section or latest code from svn

Please provide any additional information below.
It's the same with lua 5.1 or 5.2.
