glide's Introduction

Glide

Sphinx-based curriculum system.

A moderate-sized wrapper around Sphinx that provides:

  • output to RevealJS
  • useful additional RST directives for slideful things
  • a decent minimal theme for handouts
  • better LaTeX generation for making book-style PDFs

glide's Issues

Some graphviz don't appear

It might be related to .. compare.

Commenting out graphviz.css seems to fix it:

image

(removing that works)

Reconsider use case of .. newslide

It handles this case well:

- some list
- another item

.. newslide::

- continue
- here

since that just divides that into slides, but it doesn't put anything on handouts.

However, there's often a case like this:

- some item
- another item

Unimportant Title I Don't Want in TOC But Do Want on Handouts
-----------------------------------

- some item

Plus, newslide is implemented in a very invasive way, and breaks things like the editor directive (that can prob be fixed)

It also makes it hard to jump in a smart editor to a slide

Perhaps better:

- some
- item

-Title
------

- another

where the leading dash tells it:

  • on slides: remove dash, keep
  • on handouts: don't emit anything about for this

and

- some
- item

=Title
------

- another

could mean:

  • on slides, remove equals
  • on handouts: not for TOC

Singlehandouts builder needs a size option for graphviz

Currently, when using the singlehandouts builder, the graphs generated by graphviz will not be sized properly for that particular build causing issues with graphs being clipped off a page when processed into a pdf through something like prince.

I'd like to add a size option for this that matches the current handouts builder sizing option for the graphviz graphs.
