2 types of mappings:

  • When an external entity is removed by Slimmer because it is redundant from another source (which should be a 1 to 1 mapping) (related issue)
  • Mappings from internal and external module entities to other ontologies (OBO, CHEBI, CHEMINF...)

Using the Bioportal mappings to help understand disjointness and sameas-ness

How can the mappings of terms in the enm ontology to other terms in the imported ontologies help improve the class hierarchy of the ontology? Are the current class usages correct?

  • Retrieve the mappings from a config list of important upper classes
  • Check for the enm descendants of these upper classes if the chosen slimmed restructuring is adequate according to mapping
  • Add useful owl:sameAs and owl:disjointWith statements to eNM when applicable?
