talendcomp_tjasperserverfile's Introduction

Talend Components to handle files in the JasperServer repository

These component provide the capabilties to handle files on the JasperServer. They use now the rest-v2 interface and therefore compatible with the current releases of the JaspeServer. You can do all typical file operations with them. A typical use case is to send offline generated report result files on a JasperServer.

There are following components

tJasperServer - provides the connection to the JasperServer to share it over multiple components

tJasperServerFilePut - Put a file in the repository

tJasperServerFileGet - Get a file from the repository

tJasperServerFileDelete - Delete a file from the repository

tJasperServerFileCopy - Copy/move a file within the repository

tJasperServerFileList - List files in the repository

tJasperServerClose - Close the explicit connection created by tJasperServer component

Roundtrip job

Talend 8 - java.lang.NoSuchFieldException: mdc

Hi Jan,

we discovered a potential issue in our environment while using Talend Studio 8 with Java 11.

Recently, we've been experiencing the following error message:
java.lang.NoSuchFieldException: mdc at java.base/java.lang.Class.getDeclaredField(Class.java:2411) at org.apache.log4j.MDCFriend.fixForJava9(MDCFriend.java:13) at org.slf4j.log4j12.Log4jMDCAdapter.<clinit>(Log4jMDCAdapter.java:38) at org.slf4j.log4j12.Log4j12ServiceProvider.initialize(Log4j12ServiceProvider.java:37) at org.slf4j.LoggerFactory.bind(LoggerFactory.java:153) at org.slf4j.LoggerFactory.performInitialization(LoggerFactory.java:141) at org.slf4j.LoggerFactory.getProvider(LoggerFactory.java:419)

After some investigation, we suspect that this issue may be related to the use of Log4j2 within our Talend Studio 8 environment and the usage of the component tJasperServerFilePut.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and we look forward to your feedback.

Best regards,
Susanne & Jens

tJasperServerFileList resource type parameter

I noticed that there are some (older) open threads on talend or jasper support forums of people that are wondering why tJasperServerFileList does not return anything. I think that this is because the some are interested in other resource types than the default hardcoded value of the query string parameter that is "file": type=file. I think would be nice to have a parameter exposed for this query string parameter in the component just for example as it is recursive and filter. This would allow to use tJasperServerFileList component to fetch for example: "adhocDataView" resource type.

Great work BTW.
