Show an more specific running example in the man page or the readme page would be great:
This is my note on using tomcat.
In catalina.sh, I added CATALINA_OPTS="-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true"
And I changed one line from
eval $_NOHUP "\"$_RUNJAVA\"" "\"$LOGGING_CONFIG\"" $LOGGING_MANAGER $JAVA_OPTS $CATALINA_OPTS \
to
eval privbind -u jack -g jack -n 2 $_NOHUP "\"$_RUNJAVA\"" "\"$LOGGING_CONFIG\"" $LOGGING_MANAGER $JAVA_OPTS $CATALINA_OPTS \
It says
privbind: setgroups: Operation not permitted
If i do not specify the group, it says the same thing, then I created a specific group: ordinary. and specify the group with -g ordinary
sudo addgroup ordinary
sudo usermod -G ordinary -a jack
I still got the same message. Anyone knows where I went wrong?
By the way, the user who submitted the commands is jack.
groups jack gives
jack : jack sudo ordinary
and uname -a gives
Linux jackPC 4.10.0-38-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Tue Oct 10 13:24:27 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
thanks.
