When using the get_profile function, asking for an hpid that doesn't exist will return the next nearest one instead of None which would be more appropriate behaviour.

It would be better to integrate velocity over pairs of profiles than the current method which misses a small portion of time when the float is changing direction between pairs.

Why do large sections of data appear to be missing for floats other than 4976 and 4977? I suspect that somewhere in the processing NaN values are being generated/propagated.

Often the data associated with the EM subsystems of the float cut out before the CTD system. This leads to problems in the analysis... it would be helpful if the EMApexFloat class provided an estimate of the last valid EM half profile ID number.

In any software program this would be a massive security flaw. What it means for emapex is that when loading the vertical velocity model information, contained in a pickled Bunch class, for some unknown reason a selection of modules are imported. If the modules are not installed on the system then an error is thrown. The quick and easy solution is to install the imported modules. The full solution is to store the loaded data in another format.
