I agree. I just like the clean look of it all when the background isn't white though :(

But I have some things in mind to take a bit different approach here (and the Gallery view and the fullscreen video information as they share the same basic design)

Drop shadows look terrible in Kodi imo. I have been asking the devs for more options in this area (text outlines, shadow size, distance, blur, etc) for years, but it has never been taken on. It would open so many possibilities, but I think it's not a very trivial thing to add to the skinning engine.

I do too, I get it.

My personal favorite view in reFocus was the gallery, not full screen, with the bottom centered logo. It was clean and impactful. That being said I almost never used it because the wifey likes the thumbnail view. :) With 900+ movies I understand, but it's not as pretty!

I understand, the WAF is strong in our house too ;)

I mostly use list view, but I like views like Gallery for sections where the item count is not so high (recently added movies and such)

Anyway, currently working on some changes for this which I think will solve this nicely. Even saw an opportunity to cut down the code in the process :)
