test failures on linux

OS: CentOS 6 (Linux 2.6.32-279.19.1.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP x86_64 x86_64 x86_64)
GHC: version 7.4.2

Had to bump a couple of dependencies: test-framework (to 0.8) and test-framework-hunit (to 0.3.0), as older versions wouldn't install.

As per haskell-distributed/distributed-process-platform#47 - might be of interest here, though I suspect it's something to built over global rather than directly into it, not least because we might want to use an alternative 'synchronisation backend' in some circumstances (e.g., very large clusters, HPC, etc).
