Tilemill can only provide interactivity (tooltips) for a single layer. We'll need put all of the data together in order to have mouseovers on routes.

So we can use the base layer with individual maps on the site... and to re-render more quickly.

for the sake of interpolability; ease of manipulating them in tilemill, openlayers.

To enable another user to modify the base map's style, it's a convoluted process:

1. obtain an osm extract of cleveland
   (one way to do this is - download ohio extract from geofabrik - http://download.geofabrik.de/openstreetmap/north-america/us/ohio.osm.bz2
2. obtain the same fork of osm-bright as jeff did.
3. create db
   1. use imposm to load it into the database (and use the same rules .py file that he used)
      (or did he use osm2pgsql ? think it's osm2pgsql as I look at the queries in project file - 2013.02.27)
4. customize the project settings for yourself
   (can use cartocc or grep)

Either way, no big deal (this isn't a high priority at all).

Other options:

• sqlite
• geoserver
• recreate the file as a SHP and host it remotely ? ala dropbox ?
• a la cartodb ?

So others can rebuild this project themselves.
