Use services like User instead of accessing localStorage directly

Change access token generation to random number generator

Access tokens are currently susceptible to a birthday attack.

Ability to change color of cats

Anything beginning with a single or double quote should not be treated as a cat

Expand dev server seed data so anyone can use it

Include a dev user, e.g. username [email protected] password development

Ability to change color of individual cats

Add a column to cats, :color, which is a hex string used for its display color

Cats are incorrectly assumed to be plural if they end in 's'

On first sign in: time zones are default pst, but your computer is set to EST, would you like to declare EST?

Remove duplicate cat restriction

Sometimes duplicate cats are useful, e.g. swim, warm up, 200 yards, kick, 300 yards

session#new's :email and cat#show's :name should be case-insensitive

Handle expired access tokens more gracefully

Currently if your access token expires, data loading will fail but no error message will appear. You have to look in the console to see any sort of error, and to fix the situation you have to manually log out and log back in again.

Upgrade password hashing algorithm

We currently use sha256, which is terrible for hashing passwords. I know scrypt and bcrypt are currently good options.

Colors

What determines the colors? They don't seem to be consistent (records shows a cat in one color, while cats shows it in a different one, even within the same page). Also, colors appear to differ between rcrd.org and localhost.
