This is a React Native project, bootstrapped using @react-native-community/cli
.
If this is a fresh installation you have to run the following commands before you can start:
# Install node dependencies
npm install
# Install iOS Cocoapods dependencies
cd ./ios
bundle install
bundle exec pod install
If you are using Node Version Manager. You can create the the file ./ios/.xcode.env.local
and add the the path for you version of node (>=18 recommended):
# iOS example:
export NODE_BINARY=/Users/myuser/.nvm/versions/node/v18/bin/node
First, you will need to start Metro, the JavaScript bundler that ships with React Native.
To start Metro, run the following command from the root of your React Native project:
npm start
Let Metro Bundler run in its own terminal. Open a new terminal from the root of your React Native project. Run the following command to start your Android or iOS app:
npm run android
npm run ios
If everything is set up correctly, you should see your new app running in your Android Emulator or iOS Simulator shortly provided you have set up your emulator/simulator correctly.
This is one way to run your app โ you can also run it directly from within Android Studio and Xcode respectively.
This project make usega of Prettier and ESlint to increase code quality and readability. We strongly recommend to activate the auto-format option from your editor and avoid using @ignore* rules. The following extensions are recommended for VSCode:
- Prettier
- ESLint
