combuctor's Introduction

Website Patreon Community Paypal

Welcome!

I'm the author of addons like Bagnon, Scrap and PetTracker. If you're here because of something else and don't know what that means, don't worry about it 😉, just dodge the MMO gamers, I won't tell 🙈.

About Me

🎮 I've been a gamer and software developer for two decates now. My professsional journey started quite unexpectedly when I was just 12 years old, and created some of the most popular third-party software for World of Warcraft.

🎓 On the academic front, I hold a PhD in computer graphics and machine learning. My research has primarily focused on developing learning-based solutions to computer graphics problems, such as optimizing rendering performance and enhancing skin simulation, or improving hand-drawn animation.

combuctor's Issues

combuctor

causeing issues with ui after closing map, the inventory/bank drop down will be on screen and/or interface screen on combuctor set up page i see im not the only one since they posted on curse

4.2: Keyring begone

In WoW 4.2, the keyring is removed from the game. I need to remove it from Combuctor, too.

Setting width, scaling and differences in item size?

I'm a new Combuctor user and new to Github as well, so please excuse me if my suggestions have already been mentioned.

First of all: I love the idea behind Combuctor, finding stuff is so fast! It looks good as well. But I'm also a neat freak, and I currently use BaudBag to display my bags with a width of 16 items so that a complete gear set can be put in one row. What would really make Combuctor better for me is if I was able to do this also with Combuctor. Also, I make my bags quite small usually, so adjusting the size of the items would be awesome as well.

Speaking of size: when I filter or search the search results are shown bigger. Why is that? It feels strange.

TL:DR version:

  • Love the addon, finding stuff is fast!
  • Please consider adding setting width in # of items
  • Please consider adding setting size of items in % of original
  • Always showing items/results in the same size makes more sense to me

enhancement: make the profile global by default

Hi,

I started over with combuctor and I am somewhat annoyed, that I have to visit each single character and open the combuctor config - enable all/all ,... and other settings by hand, where I would like to have the same setting on every single character (and for the time being i cannot imagine, why somebody would like to have a different setup for every character).

Would it be possible to set the default profile to default instead of server/character?

Specialty bag (mining) doesn't show in inventory

I have a 16 slot "mining" bag. I can see the mining bag in the list of bags but the items in that bag do not display. I have turned Combuctor off to verify the items are in the bag. In doing some additional research I have read comments from others about different specialty bags such as a "refrigerator bag" (whatever that is?!?).

How can I split a stack in Combuctor

I wrote a note 3 months ago, have had no comments, no responses. I am unable to split a stack in my combuctor bags on any toons. I always used to do a on the stack. I did not play much for a quite a while, and no longer am able to split a stack (i.e. take 1 or 2 items from a stack of 10 or 20). Please let me know what I am doing wrong or how to split a stack.

Bag slots scrambling placement

Items in bags scramble up messing up order I placed them in requiring RL to fix . Others are leaving comments on Curse about this as in the following

"I'm also getting the same bug with bags re-ordering themselves and as a post below says, it seems to be the last three bags.

They seem to re-order themselves when you take a portal / enter/leave a dungeon.

If after a portal you do a /reload then it seems to order properly again."

combuctor item quality glow border

Thanks so much for all your hard work on combuctor.

I have a quick request: is it possible to turn off the item quality border in combuctor? i dont want the glow that shows legendary, epic, rare etc.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not enough memory error

Getting this error when I log in to a toon.
"Your computer does not have enough memory to load settings from the following addon. Please disable some addons. Combuctor."
I raised a ticket with Blizz and they said report it to the authors site. They said it has something to do with the update to 5.4.8
My pc has heaps of memory, 16Gb.
Not sure what to do.

bug

seems to me that you are aware of a bug the keeps mixing up the inventory in the bag and sometimes takes a few select ones and moves the icons to a random place on the screen, are you going to fix it anytime soon? comments about this problem are seven months old. no longer using

Move over to Envoy

I should use Envoy over AceEvent for handling custom messages in Combuctor, though I should not overdo it like I did for Bagnon :P

Split Stack problem

I suddenly am unable to split a stack in either my bags or my bank. I have always used shift-click. I am current on 5.4.0. I have tried repeatedly, even trying ctrl click, alt click, combinations of various, and also with combuctor not enabled. My wife tried also, and on about her 10th try, it worked for her. I have restarted, reloaded, etc. Any suggestions?

Finish Sets2

I should finish work on the table based version of the sets API. But, since there's a ton of old style plugins, I need to also make a wrapper for those.

MoP: bag graphics are big green scares

Everything is working for me in the beta except for the bags when displayed on the right side of Combuctor. When I toggle the bags, I get big green scares just like when you have an invalid texture. The same ting happen when I look at the bank frame.

I checked that texture name to make sure that they still exists and didn't find anything wrong on that end.

Patch 4.1 - Combuctor prevents AuctionFrame from showing

It seems like it is something to do with the UIPanel logic changing, but I found a hack/fix that seems to work. It isn't perfect but at least you can see the AH again.

The simple fix for now is to open Addons\Combuctor\frame.lua and go to line 607. Insert the following line after the SetAttribute line that is there, and the one following it.

Code:
self:SetAttribute('UIPanelLayout-pushable', 5)
Not perfect, but it works for now. Next I will try to figure out how to turn off this damn UI panel mess when you manually position the frame.

BTW, dragging the Combuctor frame away from its docked position doesn't stick, so I think it is related somehow.

Accidently made bag screen to big >.<

I was playing around board the otherday on my bank alt, rapidly making my conbuctor bag bigger and smaller really fast, when my finger slipped off the mouse. Now my bag is WAY to big and the thingy to drag to make it smaller is not shown on the screen. Is there anything that can be dun to reset combucter to it's original size?

Several suggestions/enhancements

Hello. First of all - thanks for the addon. Long time i used elvui bags module for bag enchancements, but several days ago find ur module and found it very nice to use (esp. with scrap integration).

But since i saw many bag addons i would like to ask - can u add to the combuctor several features that are already common for other bag addons and which became "necessary" for me as a user?

Here are they are:

  1. Item sorting - self-explanatory. Widely used function even with ui compilations and not only bag addons.
  2. Item stacking - self-explanatory also. Would be great if both of sorting and stacking functions can be used with guild bank also.
  3. Red overlay for the items that cannot be equipped - nice function, which i discovered in the gui addon (possible came from arkinventory).
  4. Item level overlay for gear - nice function too, was requested by some user for the one of the bag addon - i think its a good idea, coz it allows quickly sort low-level items.

And the second part of this issue is about item categories. The problem is that some items (imho) lie in the wrong categories. I am not a programmer, but i suppose that u used some apis to automatically determine item type or class and that fact they that lie in wrong categories is caused by blizzard, not u. Here are some examples:

  • In the "gear" set i have: Iron Boot Flask; Orb of the Sin'dorei and Frenzyheart Brew.
  • In the "consumables": Direbrew's Remote; Vrykul Drinking Horn and Imp in a Ball.
  • In the "reagents" i have Eye of Sulfuras (not sure which categorie it should have though)
  • In the "misc": Giant Dinosaur Bone (which is a quest item)

Thats the examples i have on my main toon. Possibly there are others, but i just gave the general idea.

Thanks in advance.

Refactor

I've not taken a look at the Combuctor code in quite a while. I should read and refactor.

Bundles

Bundles is a little library I wrote as an experiment. The intention is a thing to allow users to drag a tab in Combuctor from one frame to another and have any items that belong to that tab move to the other frame. So, for example, you could have an inventory set and drag it to your bank, or drag a certain tradeskill's items to your bank, etc

Quality Filter Enhancements

I want to do the following to the quality filter:

  • Add a way to filter heirloom items.
  • Change it to work more like a series of checkboxes, instead of radio buttons.

Request that an option be implemented to darken items that don't match the filter (by calling ItemButton.searchOverlay:Show() / Hide() the same way the new Blizzard bag searching does) instead of removing them from the display.

Data from the error I get when I log in. I picked up this addon last night (verified version is 5.4) and am testing it out to see if it works better for me than what I currently use. Bag slot background colour does not update when bags swapped

I have created a filter for combuctor that is simply a combination of the default "All/Normal" and "All/Trade" sets on one tab.

When i swap out a normal bag for a trade bag, the number of empty slots updates as expected, but the background colour of the slots doesn't change.

So if i swap out a 20 slot bag for a 16 slot enchanting bag, the number of slots shown will decrease by 4, but the slots that now belong to the enchanting bag will not become green until i close and reopen the bag frame.

Likewise, if i swap the 20-slot bag back in, 4 new slots appear, but the 16 that previously belonged to the enchanting bag are still showing as green.

closing and reopening the bag frame will fix it, so it is only a very minor glitch and causes no harm.

Filter:

CombuctorSet:RegisterSubSet("Judd's", L.All, nil, function(player, bagType)
return bagType and bagType == 0 or
         bagType and bit.band(bagType, BAGTYPE_PROFESSION) > 0
end)

Request/Enhancement: Please make it so this works for guild bank as well ;o

ability to make character bank options work with guild bank options

top of the window = main guild tabs
side of the window = sorting tabs (text based so you can fit more custom tags in)

addition features;

Button to Auto Sort guild bank if you have rights or know you have rights, granting a popup of "are you sure you have sorting rights?" you click ok and then it sorts that tab.

Bank not Updating

Many folks are reporting that the bank frame is not updating when they open it. Only after the close it again are the changes they made actually viewable.

Profession bag slots sometimes not shown

While once I had it working, after a WTF reset my Inscription bag's slots are not shown at all on combuctor. Also saw the same happen with Minning Bag, so I guess it is an issue common to all profession bags.

Portable Refrigerator

I didn't see anyone else remarking on this issue, but I have a portable refrigerator bag in my bank but after I moved cooking items into it I could no longer access them. I'd guess they should/would be accessible via the trade tab, but the only things I can see in my trade tab are my tackle box and my herb bag.

BagSync integration broken

Realm gold totals are no longer working since BagSync's been updated. Here's a patch:

Move over to LibClassy-1.0

I should start using LibClassy for creating class frames. It'll make code sharing easier for me in the future.

Currency display

I need to add some way of displaying alternate currencies (ie, tokens) to Combuctor

Search difficulties

Good day. I'm having trouble searching for items by itemlvl, especially when using ranges. Following the syntax guide for LibItemSearch-1.2 ("For example, typing lvl: >30 will find all items with level HIGHER than 30"), this doesn't return any items. If I do a literal ilvl search ("lvl:483") works, but I want to find anything above or below a certain ilvl.
