bootscout-theme's Issues

Can't centre "Click CEOP" button

I'm trying to centre the Internet Safety button, to line up with everything else in the footer. Is this possible, eg with some CSS in the theme customiser if there's no specific option available?

problems with simple booking system

Hi Jack, I am trying to use a booking system with the bootscout theme and seem to have some incompatibility issues I am using the free version from https://wpbookingcalendar.com/
The system works perfectly from the admin account however the public booking page gets stuck with a booking form, the form is OK but the "calendar" pick element just shows "Calendar is loading" (and you need this bit to chose the date).
I noticed a javascript error "Uncaught TypeError: jQuery(...).datepick is not a function" this makes me think there may be a naming conflict.
hey ho, I am not an expert .... any thoughts or suggestions to diagnose?

thanks
Trevor

Missing no-title page template

Release 2.0 removed a few features. One of these was the page template with no title. This should be added back into the theme

Links not rendering correctly

I have recently moved server and my links no longer show up as the colour set in the theme. In the editor it shows properly however when i view the live site nothing shows. I dont THINK i have altered anything in main. I did alter the navigation colour to White so it showed up better but i don't see how that would alter the links.

WordPress 5.8 support

With the release of WordPress 5.8 a number of features of this theme are not functioning as intended. The ones currently identified are as follows:

  • Search widget is no longer styled with the theme
  • There is no support for widget blocks

The theme needs to be updated with the latest features in order to provide a good user experience to both viewers of a website and website administrators.

Dropdown menu not working

Hi
I have installed the theme on 2 websites, but I can only get the dropdown menu to work on 1 of the sites. The other just wont allow the dropdown to appear and does nothing when clicked. Any ideas? (fyi I have no clue about programming)

The image on blog post cards should be smaller

The featured image displayed in the cards for blog posts is currently full size but this means it takes up a lot of space that is not necessary when just listing all blog posts. It might be better to limit these to just a thumbnail and save the full size image for the actual blog post.

Font only has one style

The font imported via google fonts only has one style selected, meaning bold text appears in the same font-weight as normal text. The font-weight set for bold text by default is also 900, which seems very bold.

It also might not be a bad idea to import the font via a <link> tag rather than an @import so it's easier for people to modify/extend without having to either do a double font import or override the entire stylesheet.

Ninja Forms not working

I have made sure that WordPress and all plugins are up to date as well as having version 1.6.4 of the theme. Ninja Forms no longer loading on pages (since update to Ninja Forms plugin). I don't know if this is a theme issue or some other issue.

Change the hyperlink colour

Hi Jack,
Love the theme.

Is there any chance you could make hyperlinks the same colour as the top bar?

I would submit a pull request but i can't work out how to do it

Many Thanks

Add support for full site editing

WordPress is changing the way sites are edited to support full site editing. This will require a full rewrite of many parts of the theme.

WooCommerce

Hey Jack 👋 - Love the theme, it has saved me a huge amount of time. I wonder if you could help out, I was just wondering if you had ever used WooCommerce with your theme. I am having a go and am seeing some strange behavior with form elements:

Feel free to tell me to go away, but i thought its worth an ask :)
