crc-bot's Issues

noDefaultGuild

Hi and thanks for the bot. i am getting the message noDefaultGuild. Tried to type the fc name and the url with no luck. Could you explain how to set it? thank you

purge failing to delete old messages

Figured out why the purge is failing - it relates to this discord issue: discord/discord-api-docs#208

TL;DR - Currently it's not possible to bulk-delete messages over 14 days old.

I'll work on how best to deal with this, but I think if you still want the whole channel purged, then we will probably have to do a bulk-delete followed by an individual delete on any remaining messages.

message throttle

I would like to clarify how you want the message throttle (slow mode) to operate:

  • Is the 1 message per hour just per user, or per user per channel?
  • Are there any roles/users to be excluded from the throttling?
  • Is the throttle on all guild channels or specific ones?

travis-CI integration

Hi Aleks,

I'd like to link the project to travis for the test framework. Would you be able to link your github account with travis here: https://travis-ci.org/auth and then go the profile page on travis and enable the crc-bot repo?

Cheers,
Scott

Needed Features list

  • Welcome message to new users

  • Users messaging in a channel a command .iam for example .iam Tank gives the user a Tank class

  • Which role can be used with this command must be set first with the command ".asar" (".asar Tank" done by an admin, allows the users to do .iam tank - roles not prior assigned by .asar can not be used for .iam)

  • The bot also keeps the channel where users have to use the command clean (deletes the user's command and the bot reply (you have been assigned the role....) after a few seconds)

  • we have monitoring channel, where the bot is literally tracking everything on the server. just an example:

:clock5:【11:50:57】 Message :pencil: #general
:bust_in_silhouette:Radical User#6606
        Old: xxxxx
        New: xxxxxyyyy

:clock5:【11:51:42】 New Message #general
:bust_in_silhouette:User#5665 xxxxx

track everything basically

  • make the bot available to the .iam command via PM (we have tons of users messaging the bot instead of using the command in the #announcements channel)

  • slow mode for a channel (1 message every 1 hour allowed)

  • .iamnot command to allow users to remove themselves from a role

  • purge configured channels of all messages at a specific time each day

self assigned roles

I would like to detail the required behaviour of the iam and iamnot commands if possible.

  • should the commands self delete in both PM and guild channels?
  • if the member executes the same command twice, should it error or simply report that the command was successful (it just did not have to do anything)
  • do the roles need to be mapped or are they exactly the same name as the discord roles? - if we keep them mapped, then we can remove any case-sensitivity in the command and still work if someone enters in .iam cASterS
  • do you want the response messages to be configurable?

channel monitoring

Since discord have rate limiting on bots, I was thinking it might be better to log all messages into a file rather than a dedicated channel. What do you think?
