Giphy API Sample Project

This repository contains a simple Node.js application that demonstrates how to use the Giphy API to fetch and display the first trending GIF image.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have the following prerequisites:

  • Node.js and npm installed on your machine.
  • A Giphy API key. You can obtain one by signing up on the Giphy Developer Portal.

Installation

  1. Clone the repository:

    git clone https://github.com/ingberrio/giphy-api.git
  2. Navigate to the project directory:

    cd giphy-api
  3. Install the required dependencies:

    npm install

Usage

  1. Open the app.js file and replace 'YOUR_GIPHY_API_KEY' with your actual Giphy API key.

  2. Run the application:

    node app.js
  3. Open your browser and go to http://localhost:3000 to see the first trending Giphy image or an error message.

Configuration

In the app.js file, you can modify the Giphy API endpoint and parameters as needed for your project. The provided example fetches the first trending GIF image using the Giphy API.
