budgie-brightness-control-applet's Issues

heads up - GTK Popover replaced by BudgiePopover

Quick heads up ... I'm sure you are already aware...

In master Git (budgie-desktop) - pending a new release of budgie-desktop, all applets that have popovers will need slight tweaks to make them work with the new API/ABI

Please can I ask 2 things?:

  1. push a git tag release for this applet for users of budgie-desktop 10.2.9 - 10.3.1
  2. have a look at the new API/ABI and prepare for the new budgie-desktop version

cheers

slider control

suggestion - add a slider between the + and - buttons to allow a user to change the brightness via dragging.

The gsd-backlight-helper exec path is changed in gnome-settings-daemon 3.28

Copyright & License Requirements

Hi, this is a pretty cool applet, but you must understand that you've effectively forked my code to
create this applet, and the headers which are required by the GPL to be preserved are absent
from your source files.

i.e. the ones that explain the license and actually attribute the code to relevant authors. In effect, the license of the original code is mine to give, and you extend upon it with your changes. So if someone forks your code in future, then the whole chain of custody and ownership is respected, and the license remains valid.

Couldn't control brightness

I've used this applet before without any issue on the same machine...But this time I couldn't control the brightness since there's no sliders, signs(+/-) doesn't work either

I couldn't reinstall since idk how to uninstall first, I just tried re-installing without uninstalling, yet found no luck
Im using Solus Budgie

tnx

Unable to install applet

I am trying to install the applet. Going through the installation process, after typing (copying and pasting) :

meson --prefix /usr --buildtype=plain ..

I get the error message: "Neither directory contains a build file meson.build."

What am I missing?
