About Conference

PyConf Hyderabad is the regional gathering for the community that uses and develops the open-source Python programming language. PyConf Hyderabad is organised by the Hyderabad Python User Group (HydPy) for the community. This conference is about sharing of knowledge, experience and allowing the growth of ideas which could lead to spillover of stronger ties between developers and users of Python with human interactions.

About Us

Hyderabad Python User Group (HydPy) is community driven group to promote Python in Hyderabad. HydPy has been conducting monthly Meetups & workshops in Hyderabad for last 2 years and it has over 4500 members. We work together with other communities in particular, python and in general Open Source Software (OSS) related groups within Hyderabad and the rest of India to further expand the usage and increase users of OSS. HydPy is a recognised regional community by Python Software Society India (PSSI) and global Python Software Foundation (PSF).

hydpyconf2019's Issues

Remove menu movements when the modal opens

hydpyconf2019-header-jumping

The menu and button in the header move left and right when the modal window opens and closes.

At these moments, the scrollbar disappears and disappears, and the header adapts to the new width of free space. But it seems that the menus and buttons are reacting to this with a delay. They first bounce to the side, and then smoothly move to their original place.

Add a More dropdown to Navbar

Add a More dropdown in the navbar having the following links to page

  • Volunteer
  • Code of Conduct
  • FAQ

They are already present in footer. Links are same as that in the footer. Also make sure to update the mobile view properly.

Update corrected logo

Current one has PyConf Hyderabad 2017 mentioned in it. Update it with the plain version.

Implement PWA features

Implement PWA features to make the current website to have app-like features.

  • Add web app manifest.
  • Add a service worker.
  • Make web app Installable

Add favicon

Create and add a favicon for the current website.

Add Code of Conduct

This is something that needs to be added at the very beginning. Copy this from last PyConf Hyderabad website and make necessary modifications.

Create All Speakers page

Create a page to list all speakers similar to https://pyconf.hydpy.org/2017/speakers/ . List the Keynote speakers and Talk speakers separately. We only need to list the speaker image and Name. The info modal is not required. Something similar to the _include/speakers-section.html can be created.

Add Keynote Speakers section

We will be going to announce our first Keynote Speaker soon. Speaker section needs to be uncommented in _layouts/default.html and made ready for Keynote speaker announcement.
