obcitian is a browser extension designed to streamline the process of collecting scientific references while browsing the web. It automatically detects and stores scientific references from the current tab in a BibTeX file. obcitian is intended to work seamlessly with the Obsidian Citations plugin, which can load the BibTeX file containing references.

With obcitian, you can effortlessly maintain an up-to-date collection of scholarly references for your research, papers, and projects.

• Automatic Reference Collection: obcitian automatically identifies and captures scientific references when you visit webpages with citations.

• BibTeX Format: All references are stored in BibTeX format, the standard format for scholarly publications.

• Duplicates Management: obcitian checks if a reference is already stored in your reference list, avoiding duplicate entries.

• Seamless Integration with Obsidian Citations: Easily import the generated BibTeX file into Obsidian using the Obsidian Citations plugin.

obcitian is available for various browsers. Choose your preferred browser and follow the installation instructions:

1. Install obcitian: Follow the installation instructions for your browser.

2. Browsing with obcitian:

   • Whenever you land on a webpage with a scientific reference or citation, obcitian will detect it and store the reference automatically.

3. Managing References:

   • Click on the obcitian icon in your browser toolbar to access your reference list.

4. Exporting References:

   • Export your reference list to a BibTeX file.

5. Using with Obsidian Citations:

   • In Obsidian, use the Obsidian Citations plugin to import the BibTeX file generated by obcitian.

6. Customization:

   • Configure obcitian to store references in specific folders or with custom citation keys.
