There's a _site/feed.xml file that's generated, but app.yaml doesn't expose it, meaning http://updates.html5rocks.com/feed.xml returns a 404.

Additionally, there's <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="HTML5 Rocks RSS" href="http://feeds.feedburner.com/html5rocks"> markup on the page, but that points to an RSS feed for the main www.html5rocks.com, and doesn't include updates.html5rocks.com articles. That <link> should be swapped out for http://updates.html5rocks.com/feed.xml once the URL starts working.

As the latest article it's showing is from December (How to use Service Worker), rather than Jan 20th (ES6 Template Strings).

Also the link in "/_includes/footer.html" goes to "/rss", which is a 404 :-)

http://updates.html5rocks.com/samples/styles/main.css returns a 404, which is an issue when viewing, e.g., http://updates.html5rocks.com/samples/generators/index.html

There are some TODOs in _config.yml and otherwise incomplete data. Filling it out completely and then using it consistently throughout the site's templates should help ensure that all the on-page URLs are correct, and stay correct in case the site's structure ever changes.

It should go to just the normal root

updates.html5rocks.com redirects to https://developers.google.com/web/updates, and this new page doesn't have a CORS policy. The old domain used to have an "Access-Control-Alllow-Origin: *" policy. Can this policy be added to this domain, or is there an alternative html5rocks.com subdomain that supports CORS? This is important because the sample in the Using CORS article hits a server with CORS enabled: http://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/cors/

It should mention somewhere in the Run it Locally section that gem install jekyll-assets is also required.

update.h5r.com is missing social media bits. this makes social sharing boring. please add Microdata, Twitter Cards and OGP.

updates.html5rocks.com used to have an "Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *" header (similar to how http://www.html5rocks.com/en/ has one), but it is no longer there. This is causing the sample at http://www.html5rocks.com/en/tutorials/cors/ to fail.

While it's nice to have the author avatar there, we should use the hero image from each article.

Posts lack schema.org markup, leading to boring snippets when shared on G+ and other social platforms:

We should ensure that there's a thumbnail and description for each post to go along with the title. I did something similar for another Jekyll based site, blog.polymer-project.org: googlearchive/blog#11

I just want to translate _posts/2015-01-21-ES6-Template-Strings.md into Japanese.

For tutorials, each article has subdirectories for multiple locales.

But isn't there such automated i18n workflow for updates?
