debian-buster-zfs-root's Issues

VMware Workstaion - Operating System not found

I have tried this several times with 10.12 and 10.3 of buster (debian-live-10.3.0-amd64-lxqt.iso and debian-live-10.12.0-amd64-lxqt.iso).

In both cases, with no errors I do reboot which stalls and have to hard reboot. At boot of VM, I get: 'Operating System not found'.

Any suggestions on troubleshooting.

Encryption

Can encryption be enabled so a password is required at boot?

System boots into grub rescue

Hi,

after installing Debian Buster using your script on a SATA SSD ZFS-mirror the system boots into grub rescue.

If we run a normal (hd2,gpt3)/efi/debian/grub.cfg manually, we can boot into Debian successfully and fix this using grub-install and update-grub.

Do you have an idea what's wrong?

Restoration of ZFS Snapshot

Hello,

A year ago or so, I used this script to create a 3 disk raidz1 array, and install debian. I'd like to add a disk to this array.

Is it possible to use sgdisk to zap the disks in the array, then run this install script again, killing it after the array creation with the added disk, then restoring the backup/snapshots onto the array?

If not, I'd appreciate it very much if you could suggest at least generally how I might create that array manually. I've followed the instructions on the ZFS-On-Linux web site to install Debian before, and understood pretty much what I was doing. I don't fully understand how your script does what it does.

Thanks!
