nix-config's Issues

:crossed_swords: desperate wanna-do's

After surviving my first system crash and losing all the things i've built with my bare hand, carrying lethargy and pain on my shoulders, i found myself floundering in the void. The void that i was so tragically used to. The void that turned into fireworks and waterfalls in my hands. And so, like a golden aged potter, i'm here again, ready to leave my worries behind and start over.

Years of refining plain materials left me with nothing but acknowledged mistakes, that poorly guide me in this new story. The unfortunate days behind my back weren't all for nothing, at lease today i know for sure. So, dear wanderer, let me mention everything i shall attempt to bypass, after finally having a chance to amend (brr) my actions, haha!

ailases with/in fish shell

the aliases put while running bash dont work with fish. gotta fix that, sick of typing every single charactr

clear and informative shell prompt

The shell prompt is the bit of text that shows up in our shells to indicate that we can interact with them.

It usually gives some details about the current shell session. Usually by default it provides the hostname, which is not great news at all.

thinkstation%

This prompt primarily tells us the shell is ready for input, but it could be much more useful. E.g. it may include:

  • Path of the current working directory
  • Git branch and indicator for changes
  • Indicator of last command exit code

Besides providing necessary bits of information, the prompt should be fast and pretty, without being overwhelming or distracting.

Termination

This issue officially states that nixos is no longer used by the owner of this repository (me) due to technical requirements.

Thank you.

web server to serve files to browser

i had a side business revolving around wave function collapse, wich is basically about sticking matching tile sides. tiles are png's which should be available on localhost.

i need something that would serve static files on localhost.

for example http-server on npm. but anything is ok.

Keep sheel commands history

Keep our shell history so that searching for past commands is possible.

We might tweak some key bindings to make reversive search possible. Zsh has it, I believe Fish should also do.

make master branch great again

whenever i need some packages (usually vscode extensions) i install them without checking/switching branch. then when i sit to work on real issues (from our main issue source, kanbanjan) those quick changes mix with other things and a confusing ajebsandal is all we get.

for example there is a branch specifically for setting shortcuts but there are other unnecessary changes as well (ov kara asi xi...).
As somebody very responsible for their deeds (especially the silliest ones) i hurried to fix everything until other bigger problems haven't occurred. and that's how i met your git cherry pick.

but the things became non understandable again somehow. voshm i messed up some branches, now my missions are to

  • validate all branches for purity
  • purify the unpure branches
  • make sure master branch is ready for reproduction
