Failed signature check during core packages installation

Latest OSMC version on a Raspberry pi 4.
Failed signature check for many packages during step 3: basic install : It looks like the retropie GPG key is not known.

From https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/28002/gpg-server-error-when-trying-to-update-retropie-packages/8 I did

$ sudo gpg --keyserver hkps://keyserver.ubuntu.com:443 --recv-keys DC9D77FF8208FFC51D8F50CCF1B030906A3B0D31

Re-ran install core packages/basic install and installation worked.

Launcher addon won't install on Kodi 19.

Raspberry Pi 3b+, Kodi 19 Matrix.

When installing from zip, installation of the launcher addon fails with the following message:

Unable to install dependencies.

Joycon not detected

I´m trying to install retropie inside OSMC using your script, and all goes well, but when i try to configure nintendo joycon I get an advice that says "No devices were found, Ensure device is on and try again". I have done with joycon in discover mode,
I get another advice that says "Unable to find mixer elements".

Sorry about my poor english.

Does this not work on Pi 4?

So the install seemed to go smooth. But will not launch. Would also prefer to install to USB external drive. Here is a screen shot of the launcher error. Sorry it is the only way I could post it. I am a newbie at this.

Running OSMC on Pi 4.
Here is a log that might help.

Install fails on latest OSMC 2022.09-1 on Pi3

I do use an NFS root for my OSMC installs so I am going to try a regular install to SD card today to see if I have better luck but I had errors about mupen64plus not installing and the kodi addon fails to launch. It does seem like emulation station installed ok as I was able to exit kodi and launch that directly via the shell script.

Will update with error messages as fast as I can generate them.

No emulation video output for Amiberry 3.3 on Vero4k

(continuing from the OSMC forum)

Whenever I launch any game I get a black screen but can hear the game's audio. The Amiberry config GUI works as expected.

Notes:

  • The are no errors in amiberry.log
  • This only affects Amiberry
  • All libretro cores I tried worked just fine.
  • Reinstalling retrOSMCmk2 (or RetroPi) didn't help
  • OSMC (stable) is up to date.

Disclaimer: I decided to submit the issue here first, instead of upstream, since the Vero4k uses custom builds for SDL and Amiberry. I also presume that upstream doesn't have access to a Vero4k to reproduce the issue.

Cheers

I'm getting an error when trying to install on rPi4. Not sure if this is compatible yet?

I quit halfway through setting up the controller, as it just wasn't reflecting on screen what was happening.

I have since then used the RetroPie script to install from source, but it made no difference. I fought to get the controller setup, and the lag is shown by the FPS from this photo.
20220326_130448

Frustratingly, installing RetroPie on a separate SD card and it runs flawlessly, but I'd much prefer it to be launched from OSMC.

Any ideas? Happy to provide more logs, let me know what would help.

Kodi crash and cec broken when pogramming exit key

When programming the CEC exit key kodi crashes and CEC breaks. Kodi 19.5, on latest OSMC and raspberry pi 4
Also the CEC remote is completely broken due to the remote_jammer("START") and remote_jammer("STOP") not being in a try finally section. As kodi crashes before remote_jammer("STOP") is called, the remote.xml is not restored.
This can be solved by manually copying over the /home/osmc/.kodi/userdata/keymaps/remote.xml.hidden file to remote.xml and restarting kodi.

With debug mode and CEC debugging on, kodi.log (I've removed some repetitive messages)

Checking the while loop of the `` function I notice that the CecLogMessage - >> 04:44:2c are not captured by ` line = next(cecc_iter)`. This is caused because CEC messages are still received by kodi, and not by the subprocess that is supposed to be spawned. (`cecc_proc = subprocess.Popen(CLIENT, stdout=subprocess.PIPE, universal_newlines=True)`)

Not sure yet on how to address this: either capture the CEC message through Kodi's interface. Or release CEC completely from kodi and capture it using the subprocess as it is done today.

I have this issues with multiple package, don't understand why:

retrOSMCmk2 on OSMC Could not install packages

Hello,
I am trying to install Retropie on OSMC on my Raspberry Pi 4B 8GB ram and I get this issue:

Could not install package (s): libxll-xcb-dev libavcodec-dev libavformat-dev libavdevice-dev.

Could not install package (s): python3-urwid python3-sd12

The Retropie launcher image will show in the OSMC menu but when I click it nothing happens. I am assuming it is because these packages were not installed. I spent a couple of hours trying to google a solution but no luck. Unfortunately, I am unable to show a log file because when I tried to access it nothing was visible but a few white lines and some letters here and there. I don't know if it's because Putty was unable to view it or for some other reason.

Any help would be appreciated. I am new to all this.

omxplayer missing from latest osmc repo

Hello,
on fresh OSMC 2019-11, the retropie setup script (not your script) fails to build emulationstation because omxplayer is missing from OSMC's current repo but raspbian repo still has a working copy.
I suggest adding the following before launching the retropie installer:

# install deprecated omxplayer from raspbian repo without which retropie setup will fail and emulationstation is not built (not optional)

            sudo apt-get install gdebi-core
            mkdir -p /home/osmc/RetroPie/omxplayer_install_package
            wget --no-check-certificate -w 4 -O /home/osmc/RetroPie/omxplayer_install_package/omxplayer_20180905+git061425a-1_armhf.deb https://archive.raspberrypi.org/debian/pool/main/o/omxplayer/omxplayer_20180905+git061425a-1_armhf.deb
            sudo gdebi /home/osmc/RetroPie/omxplayer_install_package/omxplayer_20180905+git061425a-1_armhf.deb

# ask whether to remove the omxplayer install package after install

            echo ""
echo "omxplayer was installed from the raspbian repo. do you want to remove your backup copy of this install package? (if unsure, type no)"
            rm -ir /home/osmc/RetroPie/omxplayer_install_package

I submit this change to you because mcobit hasn't been active in years and I don't want to fork yet (not skilled enough to maintain such a script anyways)

permission denied to create work tree dir

Hi,

I'm having the below issue installing it on a Vero4k+. How can I fix this? I've tried shutting down Kodi to avoid interference with the installer script. What directory should I grant permissions to?

Thx!

Compatability with Vero V

Hi,

How is the status regarding Vero V support? The installer does still restrict this addon to Vero 4(+) and I'm not sure I would want to mess around with the stuff here just to try out. :)
