Are there any plans on returning images with transparency, like with the webp format ? Maybe using a parameter or a dedicate endpoint, or even substituting the current ones if it is a storage issue.

I'm creating a pokedex-like app for digimon based on the API and the white background is a limiting factor for the design requirement.

Heroku's free tier is great, but waiting for the dyno to spin up before requests are satisfied is very slow.
I could speed the API up exponentially by deploying it to Vercel as serverless functions.

The drawback to this is there would be a new API endpoint, but I will leave the Heroku deployment running and just update the documentation to tell users of that the Vercel API is preferable because it is much faster.
