I am Chris, a Computer Science student.

Things that interest me:

Linux and mobile Linux distros, such as SailfishOS and Ubuntu Touch.
Creating GUIs, especially in QML. I haven't found a GUI framework yet that sparks the same joy as Qt's QML, although I would like to find one in case the Qt Company loses its mind.
Operating Systems, especially those with microkernels.
Open standards and free software. Ironically I'm writing this on GitHub.
Game engines in general. It's such a shame most people seem to flock towards a few well-known ones.

Hotlink to Chum app on Sailfish OS

On Sailfish OS, it would be nice if on a page for an application there would be a link that opens the respective page in the Chum app.

Download app icons locally and convert them to PNG

Many linked app icons seem to be of .svg format, which is great, but sadly this does not work well in link previews based on the OpenGraph tags or the prototype Telegram bot I was playing around with.

Fill sidebar and homepage with recent and random applications

Right now, it is empty, which looks a bit odd.

Generate metadata parsing report to the Actions

GitHub supports outputting a Job summary: https://github.blog/2022-05-09-supercharging-github-actions-with-job-summaries/

It may be interesting to report packages with broken metadata.

Search

It should be possible to search for apps and packages. Since the site will be hosted using GitHub pages, it must be client-side.

To avoid reinventing the wheel, perhaps a library like Lunr can be used to power the search results.

Mobile view

The CSS should be adjusted to support a mobile view of the website. It should work on Sailfish OS

Add a section to list the applications by category
