Issue with vehicle pop up

When a vehicle is read, the vehicle window automatically pops up. After closing the vehicle window, either by saving or discarding, the game can't be changed away from vehicles.

Heroic Challenges and Vehicle Level?

Thank you for fixing the writing issues with Alpha 5! Now, I only have two issues to report.

One, Heroic Challenges are a bit odd. There are 48 in existence and even setting a Skylander to "999999" gives them only 21.

And two, you may not be aware but vehicles are capable of levelling up. However, that value can only be seen in Skylanders SuperChargers Racing on Wii and 3DS. They have a max of 20, just like Skylanders. So if it could be possible to tamper with the Experience in a Vehicle, it would be great.

I'm aware you're still struggling with Traps so I won't report on anything yet aside from them being corrupted when tampering with anything. I tried assigning variants for example and it won't work, but I'm aware this feature is far from functional according to your reports.

Can't upgrade vehicle

I've tryed to upgrade vehicle gears but after write to portal it say is corrupted, so i'm unable to write it modded.

And also when change that value, last two checksum on the right are red instead of green...

Vehicle Weapon & Shield Levels aren't correctly detected + Can't see vehicle level used in SuperChargers 3DS/Wii

Okay, so as I was trying to max out the Gearbits on my Dark Hot Streak and encountering the "gearbit corruption" issue mentioned in #6 at the moment. However, I discovered that while my Jet Stream and Dive Bomber are being ID'd just fine, it's seemingly not detecting the Weapon and Shield levels correctly.

As an aside, I'd also like to mention that the editor doesn't have any way to edit the vehicle level used in SuperChargers Racing on 3DS and Wii. Hegyak's probably already looking into that, but I figured I'd bring it up here in hopes that they'll be able to provide an update on that front.

I've got a ZIP with dumps of my Dark Hot Streak, Jet Stream, and Dive Bomber vehicles from Pyrofer's Skylanders GUI Tool alongside a text detailing what I've been seeing between in-game and the editor attached here. If I need to make dumps with a different tool, just let me know.

Works, but not much?

So, first off, super excited to see this develop!

But my issue is, when trying it out, I first tried my Xbox One Trap Team Portal, but even though my computer shows it, and claims working drivers, the program said it couldn't see it. So I tried my Wii wireless portal, and it seemed to work, but everything I read the program declared to be a Whirlwind...? Not sure if I'm missing a step in setup or something.

Portal won't Connect

So, I plug my portal into my computer to try and acsess the program, the computer sees it since the light turns on, but on the program, it is unable to find the portal

Incorrect Figure and Variant Hex Values

Legendary Ignitor should be variant 031C.
Hidden Treasure, Anvil Rain, Ghost Swords, Sky-Iron Shield, Empire of Ice, and Pirate Seas should all be variant 0000.
Piggy Bank, Rocket Ram, Tiki Speaky, and Hand of Fate should all be variant 0030.
Rip Tide should be figure C60B.
LightCore Smolderdash should be figure BD0B.

I checked the entirety of my current collection of physical figures besides traps.
I have the rest of the Spyro's Adventure, the rest of Swap Force, and all of the first series of Eon's Elite coming by the end of this week (currently the week of 8/17/20), and I'll update this if any of the new figures aren't recognized.
Update: Tested all new figures. Also got more giants figures and tested them:

Fire Bone Hot Dog should be figure 6900.
Dark Mega Ram Spyro should be variant 022C, figure 1000.
Dark Spyro should be variant 0000, figure 1C00.
Dark Blast Zone figure value needs to switch between top and bottom.
Volcanic Vault should be variant 0000.
Elite Voodood should be variant 1048.
Polar Whirlwind should be variant 021C.

If you want, I can add a list of figures that will still need to be checked. I wouldn't trust figure dumps that aren't directly from a figure; I tried a few dumps from the internet that either were incorrectly labelled as a different figure or had incorrect figure and variant data.

What reader to use for new rfid tags

Hi,

Wondering what portal, if any, I can use to write new mifare tags. I have two Eon's Elite characters that do not work anymore (don't know why) so I was thinking of creating a new tag and using double sided tape or something to stick it on them.

Skylander Variant Names and Placement

This is a minor issue, but Legendary Chill from Giants, Legendary Grim Creeper from Swap Force, and Enchanted Star Strike from Swap Force are all lightcore as well. I don't know if the omission was on purpose for horizontal space, but I think the lightcore status of these figures should be reflected to prevent possible confusion.

Additionally, Legendary Sun Runner shows up under Superchargers Characters instead of in Vehicles. The Superchargers Trophies are in both Superchargers and Item; I think they should just be in Items. The Fiery Forge magic item is in both Items and Adventure Packs; I think it should just be in Items. Also, I think most people consider the Volcanic Vault a magic item, not an adventure pack.

Finally, you included chase variants in the Imaginators list. Chase variants mean they aren't different in-game even though they're different IRL. Since they don't change in-game, their editor entries don't need to be separate.
As far as I could tell, you only added chase variants in Imaginators, but if I notice any others, I'll report them here.
Edit: I double checked the other games for chase variants, and Clear Thunderbolt from Trap Team is the only other one I saw.

Edit: In checking my collection, I discovered that chase variants do actually have different variant data from the figure the chase variant is based on, even though the chase variant doesn't actually appear different in-game.

Unrelated side note: Are you still working on the To-Do list?

Writing Gold and Gearbits?

I first off want to say, THANK YOU for creating a Skylanders Editor with a clear, easy to use interface. It's a godsend for diehard fans like me who have so many figures and not enough time to max them out.

When testing out the software however, it seems like Gold values are not properly saved to my figure, nor is Gearbits to my vehicles.

I'm looking to unlock all of the cosmetics from the Boom 5000, and that requires a lot of Gearbits. Am I doing something wrong, or is this feature still in development?

To Do Objectives

To help keep track of what needs to be done:

  • Rewrite the Entire Load/Write Methods for Figures. It's necessary because of the Three Types I am dealing with.

  • Determine if Usage Data (Time, Number of Owners) has any impact on Game.

  • Double check if the Giants Figure Skills has something unique going on.

  • See if Swap Bottom has Unique behavior Vs. Other Figures for Skills.

  • Does a Swap Bottom Half even have any impact on game? How?

  • Figure out how a Trap's Special Checksum is done/setup.

  • Finish Editor GUI and Functionality for Vehicles.

  • What are the Maximum Values for Weapons, Shields and Gearbits?

  • What order are the Mods parsed/handled for Vehicles?

  • Create Editor GUI for Crystals.

  • There's a LOT of stuff to Set/Do for this one.

  • Crystals have this special Checksums. Similar to Trap Checksum

  • When Changing Figure ID/Variant ID, Verify that it's not a Special Restricted Figure and Disable/Enable Controls as necessary.

Possible:

  • Improve the GUI (How?)
  • Improve Figure Identification
  • Verify the Gen6 Figures Hashes.

#bug Hello,
I am not a dev for this project, but I came across this issue. I was using this software recently (Alpha 1, then Alpha 6 as I had discovered this updated version was a bit more effective), and I noticed that every time I try to add Gearbits to my vehicles, the game says the vehicle is corrupted. I have uploaded images of the steps I took. I did read the figure, accept the application of the gearbits, and wrote the figure once I was done.

Lightcore Smoulderdash not identified

After resetting a large collection of Skylanders Spyro's Adventure, Giants and Swap Force figures, Lightcore Smoulderdash was the only figure that wasn't correctly identified. This was attempted on a Windows 10 PC, using a PS4 Trap Team portal. The figure's stats were all detected ok, but the figure type wasn't. A

p.s. A huge thanks for developing this app. It made life really easy to reset a large collection of figures and fix broken ones.

Question about Area comparisons

I'm just checking - could that be simplified to:

If Area0 >= Area1 Then
	frmMain.numHeroicChallenges.Value = HeroicChallengesValueArea0
ElseIf Area1 > Area0 Then
	frmMain.numHeroicChallenges.Value = HeroicChallengesValueArea1
End If

? I.e. using "greater than or equal to" in one expression, rather than having to check equality separately.

Or indeed to:

If Area0 >= Area1 Then
	frmMain.numHeroicChallenges.Value = HeroicChallengesValueArea0
Else
	frmMain.numHeroicChallenges.Value = HeroicChallengesValueArea1
End If

? I.e. the ElseIf isn't needed, as if Area0 is NOT greater than Area1, then obviously Area1 is greater than Area0 and doesn't need to be checked again.

This is a genuine question to help my understanding as I am not a VB expert!

i tried it on s1 hex all area were green and i put it in and it came up with the error i’m on rpcs3 with downloaded figures and game rom but i don’t think that does anything but correct me if i’m wrong

More platform support

Many thanks for writing this app. I realise that it is early days and this might not be a priority for you, but it would be nice if it supported more platforms, such as Linux and macOS. At the moment it compiles fine in monodevelop on Linux, but crashes upon running, due to it trying to call hid.dll.

A brief google finds a number of multi-platform HID libraries you could maybe use instead, such as https://github.com/libusb/hidapi or https://github.com/MelbourneDeveloper/Device.Net

There may be other Windows API calls (I see references to, e.g. kernel.dll) too.
