It looks like you didn't install all the dependencies. They've changed recently as we moved to have less included directly in LUS. Double check the building.md to make sure you got everything.

I already had all the dependencies listed in BUILDING.md, reinstall them all. I tried to compile it again, I still got the undefined references.

Well, something went wrong, because installing spdlog is supposed to install fmt as well, and that's what's missing.

fmt-devel was already installed. as you say, it was installed along with spdlog.

i'm not sure what exactly is going on with your environment but it sounds like an environment issue

i updated the test-builds-on-distros gh workflow to use fedora 40 on a branch on my fork and the build succeeded without issues https://github.com/briaguya-ai/Shipwright/actions/runs/9212916110/job/25345632526

it's probably something wrong with my environment, using spdlog from fedora repositories didn't work. i have compiled spdlog from source, and now i didn't get undefined references.
