I've never actually tested to see if unicode character server names would work.

I should probably do that.

Required for NOLF 2 support.

There should be an optional extension to enable motd support. This data could come from a text file, or the database. Whichever is easiest to update.

It might be worth looking into Gamespy's motd services.

For NOLF 2 there was a system motd (for gamespy/won services) and a game motd (for game newzzz)

Create a optional extension that stores the latest public build of NOLF 2 Modernizer (or any game) and allow a game client to check against that version.

Gamespy may have done something similar, but I think this information was stored on the WON services for NOLF 2.

Some games require the challenge key / handshaking process to be done before they will query for servers.

I already have the secret keys in config/games.php but I still need to implement the encryption and decryption methods that gamespy uses.

This did not come up in testing because NOLF doesn't require this step 🤔
