fall2016's Issues

Idea: dashboard page for day-of info

I'm imagining a dashboard page with some features like:

  • A live schedule
  • A way to get in touch with a mentor
  • A Jukebox submission queue (in the event that we are able to play music/have a sound system)
  • An info dashboard with wifi instructions
  • A way to get (or find out about) tech support.

I want to centralize all this info. During the day-of event, I imagine replacing the "Apply" button at the top of the website with a "dashboard" button that takes you to this page.

Needed - Schedule module

This one will be a little tricker. We need a dynamic schedule page. It should be modular so that we could throw the html/css/js onto any page or drop it in any container and have it just work. Think of this less as a page and more as a module.

The schedule data will be delivered via JSON from some api service. Don't worry about this yet. Imagine you'll be working with something like this: https://gist.github.com/suBDavis/536179a2f8673842355a

Can Apply Without Accepting Code of Conduct

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Login with MyMLH
  2. On the my.hacknc.com landing, cliick another one of the tabs at the top, eg. Dashboard, before filling out anything more on the application
  3. Receive an email stating that you've applied to HackNC

Proposed solution: Hide tabs until all basic application info is submitted and don't submit automatically without telling the user.

Needed - Nav-bar

The extraneous pages require a nav-bar which links home, schedule, faq, and whatever other pages we throw in together.

Main Page Nav

Looks like the main page will need nav too. Horizontal navbar that follows the user.

I'm working on this.
