I like this idea too.
I would think there's a way to listen for form changes on the DOM of every tab and set a whitlelist the tab for that session if any such changes take place.

I love it too!! Thanks should go to deanoemcke (Dean I assume) though... he created it. I just found out about this extension today and started hacking around with it.
I can't speak to whether it's been requested before. It's definitely something I thought of, and so I've been thinking about I might implement it if I did it myself.

I have implemented this in version 5.0.0 (after running into this issue just before on github while trying to type a long response to an issue!).
