base16-generator's Issues

Tomorrow Night?

What happened to the tomorrow night themes? Is there any alternative for those of us that were using them?

GitHub theme uses VS Code's Dark settings

It's hard to show this via a screenshot b/c of the way macOS captures screenshots, but the cursor is definitely the cursor for dark modes, and tabs are separated by dark lines instead of a light gray. Seems like it's just using the wrong VS Code option there.

It's here.

Missing Colours

Hey -- great work with this! Definitely will be my go-to for themeing.
I just noticed some odd highlighting behaviours, I believe due to a missing colour or similar:

This is using a separate Gruvbox theme.

Compare to a generated base16-spacemacs-dark:

Or generated base16-gruvbox:

Rather odd! If I get a chance, I'll dig into the theme formats for VS Code to see if I can't uncover this myself.

Text select highlight in explorer is difficult to see in certain themes

Hello and thanks for making this extension!

I'm having an issue with one particular theme, "Outrun Dark", but this issue also occurs in other themes. Here are some screenshots to describe the issue:

Somewhat good contrast, can see text selection: Zenburn Dark

Very difficult to see, but still visible: OceanicNext Dark

Uh-oh, what text did I select: Outrun Dark

For comparison: VS Code's Dark+ (default dark theme)

Markdown preview text is wrong

Hello & thanks for a great tool!

Using the "Base16 Twilight Dark" theme, and running from the Command Palette "Markdown: Open preview on the side", I get the following appearance:

preview-base16-twilight-dark

Switching back to built in theme "Dark (Visual Studio)", it looks like this:

preview-good

Allow pre-configured customization of themes

When testing editorError.background, editorWarning.background, and editorInfo.background I decided that I didn't want to include them in the theme because I found they added too much clutter. Some users may want these theme colors but it's currently impossible for the extension to include these because the themes are pre-generated. Users may manually update their themes using the workbench.colorCustomizations setting but it would be way more user friendly for our extension to handle it as users would not need to match their custom colors with the theme they're using and they wouldn't have to update their custom colors if they changed themes.

Adding support for this would require some way of generating themes when the user requests them and also denoting somewhere what color customizations can be included into a custom theme pack.

Which schemes are being used?

Hey @golf1052, which set of schemes are you pulling from to generate the themes? There are some themes that exist here that don't exist in the base16 schemes repo which is why I'm wondering.

Also, are you interested in getting this repo into the tinted-theming org and hooking it up to make sure the builder automatically runs weekly against the latest schemes?

Various theme contrast issues 😬

I'm back with more error reports for your excellent extension. 😁 Two issues with the Nord theme for you.

The Nord Light variation is… just broken. 😬

The dark variation looks great… except for the status bar:

The move to base16-project GitHub organization

Hi @golf1052, there is a group of us working on reviving the base16 project and I'm wondering if you'd be willing to join?

The discussion about a base16 Github organization initially started in 2016. Now, with the disappearance of Chris Kempson, the importance of the base16 organization is more vital than ever to keep the project structured and thriving. Currently there is a "deprecation" notice on the old chriskempson/base16 repo.

Seeing as you maintain this repo (and other base16 repos), we're looking for more colaborators and I was wondering if you are you interested in joining github.com/base16-project and helping us maintain some of the projects?

Right now, logistical communication around this is happening at tinted-theming/home#1. Some of us are also on #base16 on Libera Chat [IRC] (for more general discussions and hangouts)

Are you interested in maintaining any base16-project repositories and being part of the organization?

Cannot read id of undefined

Installed the extension. Used it to activate a couple of themes. Worked fine until I tried the greenscreen dark theme. Then I got "Cannot read id of undefined" error and now I cannot activate any theme.

Tried reinstalling the extension, but it did not help. Now I just get the error when the extension loads.

Tried deleting the folder for it in .vscode/extensions but that did not help either.
I wish I could tell you more, but that is all the information I am getting from vscode.
