memtime

Measure time and memory consumption un linux and solaris.

The program can be installed with

./configure
make
make install

Sources were copied from http://www.update.uu.se/~johanb/memtime/

I included the sources of version 1.0 to 1.3 to this repository. All credits for the previous code go to Johan Bengtsson and Juhan Ernits.

It seems that there are also copies of the latest sources on: http://freecode.com/projects/memtime and http://ostatic.com/memtime

On these websites the description of the tool is: "memtime is a tool for measuring memory and time used when executing a command. It currently works on Linux and Solaris-7 and it is written to be fairly easy to port to new systems."

I updated the 'configure.sub' so that ./configure works on newer linux versions. Additionally, I created a branch (logfile) in which the program writes its measurements to a logfile.

64 bit support was implemented by Zuowei Li and Jianlei Yang in 06/2012, see http://tiger.cs.tsinghua.edu.cn/Students/yangjl/memtime/ I added their changes as a branch "Yang_64bit".

Various improvements have been added by members of the university of Twente (between 2009-2013): http://fmt.ewi.utwente.nl/gitweb/?p=memtime.git I added their commits into a branch "utwente".
