AEtherSlay

A Lightweight Dungeon Master's Toolkit for Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition


Designed with the DM in mind, built for comfort and speed above all else. I have endeavoured to make this application as simple to use as well as lightweight. The current footprint of the application is 33MB memory usage (0.6alpha.2).

Weapon Quantity Bug

Weapons with a quantity cause other weapons to have their quantity changed as well. Unable to replicate currently due to 21fb097

Total App Save States

Ambitious, but could have it so that you can save the entire app's state (generated encounters, characters, items etc) into a .txt that can then be loaded

Very ambitious though...

Splash Screen on App Load

Add a splash screen as the app loads while the JSON for creatures is parsed and, later in development, previous saves and other files are also parsed. Looks nicer and gives an indication (load bar) of how far the application is from being useable

Asynchronous Creature Loading

Load the creature library as a backgroundWorker async task on main form load. If user tries to access creature form then display messageBox saying "Please Wait"

Tooltipping

Will be a massive pain but could add tooltips to traits and core stats to show what the trait entails or, in the case of core stats, how stat bonuses have come about

Intelligent Rolling

Perhaps have it so that each class' preferred stats are filled with the highest numbers (like an actual player would)

I.E: System rolls 7/10/10/14/17/17 for a Barbarian. It would then know to prioritise core stats in order STR/DEX/CON and not care about the rest

Character Sheet Storage // Party Tracker

A means of storing a party's character sheets. frmPlayerCreation should have a "Add to Party" button as well. Should be able to add/delete characters, update info and add misc information

Add Different Packs

Currently defaults to one single pack (instead of choice)
E.G, frmCharacterCreation is initialized with Ranger as set class. Ranger is always given Explorer's Pack, never Dungeoneer's Pack. Simple rand.Next(1, 3) thing

Battle Tracker

Track any number of PCs, NPCs and enemies including initiative, health, buffs, debuffs, notes etc

Support for 3 weapons

Paladin and Fighter can have 3 different weapons. Will need to dynamically change form to allow for this OR force generation of 2 identical weapons and set quantity on them
