os-installer's Issues

Problems with accessibility

Dear developers.
Could you solve the problems described above?
Steps to reproduce::

  1. Boot into Live mode using Solus-MATE-4.3;
  2. Press ALT+F2, type orca, and press Enter;
  3. Start the installation process;
  4. A list of six or seven languages is displayed. Use the Tab key to move the focus to this list and move it down with the cursor arrow. At some point, Orca says something like Scrol Frame. To get to the big list of language choices, use the Orca flat review, find English or something similar, and then press the keyboard shortcut that corresponds to the left mouse click;
  5. The same situation in the case of choosing the keyboard layout;
  6. If there is no internet connection, and the check box responsible for automatically determining the location is not checked, the blind user is stuck at the time zone selection stage. That is, the blind user can install Solus only when actively connected to the Internet;
  7. In the dialog where you need to specify a username and password, focus on the Cancel button. Then press the Tab key. Orca will say something like Text. Could you sign these edit fields so that the blind user knows exactly what they are for? The edit fields that are used to enter the password, as well as to confirm the password, must also be signed;
  8. In the same dialog, click the Add now button. Then - press Tab. Orca will say it s a button, but it won t say its name because it s not signed either. That is, a button that invokes the dialog to create a new user.
    It would be nice if a blind user could access all elements to interact with the installer using keys such as TAB and Shift+Tab, and activate these elements using a space or Enter.
    I will be very grateful if you solve these problems.

Legacy BIOS and GPT

Dear developers.
One of the users, who really likes Solus, asked me to write about it.
Could you allow the installation of Solus even if the user uses the Legacy BIOS and the GPT partition table?
He will be very grateful to you for that.
