Inspiration

In present scenario, people are buried up in a heavy work culture, as everyone is engaged with busy schedules, and hectic tasks which make them deviate from family life. If any issues encounter unexpectedly, it distracts them and makes them choose over the work they have to accomplish primarily. It is important to manage both professional and family
life. In such circumstances, every one of us would have fantasized about a kind of house which doesn’t have any leaks in pipes, if it doesn’t have any mess in fixing a furniture and a kind of house which never face any maintenance issues and every one of us have thought that a life would be much better if no point of issue arises in getting a service at
your door step and if there is no mess in bargaining a labor for home service. In such situation's-Commerce plays a vital role in today’s life as it has so many advantages in our life because it makes convenient in daily life of the people.
So, giving a thought to that aspect of life is to design and develop a system that provides many services at your doorstep in just one click. A System that provides variety of services like plumbers, movers and packers, repair persons, cleaners, electricians, painters, taxi service laundry and many more. To make it comfortable for all the users our system
also provides a mobile environment which offers ease in accessing our services.

What it does

The name of our website is HELPING HAND. Our website will basically offer a marketplace for household services and it is the platform where the rates were standardized and there is no necessitate haggling over prices. Several aspects like painting, pest control, home cleaning, plumbing, electrical works and carpentry services are involved in a system to provide happy and healthy home atmosphere in order to satisfy consumers. This website has been secured so that the payment can be done safely.

Challenges you ran into

Setting up the twilio script for messaging purposes and stripejs script for the payment purposes. We continuously failed for more than 10-15 times in succesfully sending messages

Anything else?

Our online system for household services provides the most expedient and annoys free way to get your domestic work done.

Inspiration

In India, people find it boring to read books physically and that's why we launched E-Library to regain their interest in technologies.
The distribution process is controlled and centralized by E-Library, reducing the risk of book loss, over-ordering, and costly replacements. The E-Library provides simple information on each form of the system, as well as descriptions of each field on the form. In addition to being simple to use, E-Library can easily generate instant reports. The application is designed to be flexible and user-friendly.

What it does

This is an E-Library Website in which you get Resources to learn different topics, Donate book section to donate your old books, and a Book issue section to keep a record of all the books issued. This website helps you to find the books easily without any cost and the best part about the website is that you can also contribute to the website for others to use the resources by donating the books you have, all categories of books are welcome for donation.

  • Automatic fine calculation is available for late returns.
  • Sort the books by subject.
  • Store various books, journals, newspapers, magazines, etc.
  • Checking in and checking out is quick and simple.
  • A book can be searched using various criteria.
  • New books can easily be added.
  • A quick way to see how many books a student has received.
  • Number of books, number of books issued, number of journals, and so on

Challenges you ran into

We were facing an issue while integrating the frontend with our database and with the authentication. We had to read several docs related to this to solve this issue. Also, Throughout the process, we learned how to integrate it from scratch.

Inspiration

In the Machine Learning field, the problem is "how to get the accurate data?" like in the medical field we have the more accurate and more improvement in healthcare.

The user would have full access to his data and control over how his data would be shared. The
user would assign a set of access permissions and designate who can query and write data to
his blockchain. A dashboard application would allow the user to see who has
permission to access his blockchain. The user would also be able to view an audit log of who
accessed his blockchain, including when and what data was accessed. The same dashboard
would allow the user to give and revoke access permissions to any individual who has a unique
identifier.

So we make this project resolve this problem.

What it does

It is a web dashboard for uploading and accessing medical reports.

It divides into two types of users -

  1. User:
  • can upload medical reports as CSV
  • give read access to individual reports to individual providers.
  • revoke read access from individual reports from individual providers
  1. Provider:
  • Provider can verify reports with the report address.
  • Can view and download the report.
  • Can check which user revokes access for which report.
  • Store all reports.

Challenges you ran into

Firstly Before I had never written a single line of solidity code.

Some Problems I ran into:

  • new to Solidity

  • how to interconnect the whole system.

  • not able to make good API in solidity.

  • didn't know about truffle.

  • where to host.

  • config metamask.

All problems are solved now. Big shout to google and me.

Experience

** Really enjoying the process of making this project.
I don't believe that in 3 days I completed this.
On the first day, as a beginner in solidity, I lost lope after 6 hours of struggle.
But after my brain caught too much and everything working as I wanted.
Rest in this issue.**

Inspiration

Some days back I'm browsing through my playstore in my device for apps which can keep an eye on my swimming as well as my running activities, but I cant find a single app which can manage the both. As I was learning app developing at a beginner level, I felt the need of making a multi activity fitness app. Then I had started to hover outside the app stores for better options, but the options doesn't meets my needs. I've attended many hackathons, met many designers, developers and looked up on, what's getting funded. Then I've started asking potential users. After that we came up wuth an idea for making the GeeTracker. That idea came into world holding the hands of the CCD '22 HACKDAY.....

What it does

GeeTracker is an multi-tracker fitness application prototype, which you can download on your mobile device for assistance with your exercise regimen and related lifestyle behaviors. It can help you set fitness goals, track your progress toward those goals, try new workouts, access expert fitness advice, join a supportive community, stay motivated and more.
In GeeTracker at first you have to login or signup using your credentials and after that you are redirected to the home page, in the home page at first you can see the BMI calculator and the calorie counter where you can tap to check you BMI and total calories wasted. Below the BMI and the Calorie tabs there are the different activities tab, such as yoga, swimming, running, pushups, basketball etc. we can add many more tabs in the coming future. In all activities tab you can go and perform the activities and also can keep a track of different activities. Frankly Speaking this prototype can manages your all-workout activities rather than using single apps.........

Challenges you ran into

We had to put more than one fitness activity in one app for the better performance and uniqueness, so that's a challenge and the second one is coding the backend for the running screen and the speedometer ..

Inspiration

I have observed that taking attendance using pen and paper is very time consuming. So tracking attendance manually using face recognition could be the easiest way without any human labour. That's why I made this project.

What it does

My project is about tracking attendance of the students manually using face recognition.
In my project, via face recognition technology, the face in front of the camera will be identified and matched with the database and if a match is found then under the detected face, the name of the person will be shown and the attendance will be stored in an Excel file with the name of that person and also the date and timing of the appearance of that person in front of the camera.

There are some amazing extra features like -Emotion Detection , Gender Detection. On detecting the face, it will also give the Gender of a person and also it will do Emotion Detection like if that person is happy , sad, angry, neutral.

Challenges you ran into

Challenges - Training the model for accurate face recognition. Also Deploying the project into a website.

Inspiration

First and the foremost matter is the evolution of Artificial Intelligence in our modern generation which has influenced as well as inspired us a lot. In this progressive era we can hardly can understand each other's mood swigs or personality traits but using this project we are able to successfully establish an AI which can approximately tell you your Current Mood, Your Look similarity percentage with any other person, Your approx age as well as your landmark detection. Policeman's along with any common-man can easily use this project to detect the personality traits of a human being. We are trying to discover and innovate new things time by time and trying to add lots of features in this project to make it useful for our nation.

What it does

  1. It helps us to predict any person's Current Mood, anyone's look similarity percentage with any other person, our approx age as well as our landmark detection.
2)After face detection, we can furthermore predict the facial landmarks for each detected face.
3)After face detection and facial landmark prediction the face descriptors for each face can be computed.
4)Age estimation and gender recognition from detected faces.
  2. We can also have a Display of Results.

Challenges you ran into

  1. Firstly since our main Moto is to learn something new about this latest technology , so we have to do lots and lots of research and have to take help from lots of open source databases. Lots of modifications we are planning to do but currently it is under our plan to design this project with CSS templates in a much better way possible. Days after days we are constantly spending to find a single solution to make it better version of itself.
  2. Lots of code read and had to verify with other codes and implement new features to it.
  3. Lots of bugs are still required to be fix as it is just the beginning.

Anything else?

  1. This project is far from being perfect.
  2. We need to provide security and bigger datasets for the model to train and analyze sentiments more effectively.
  3. A lot of Design improvements can also be made.
  4. Bugs needs to be fix to make it a flexible user-friendly project.

Inspiration

We got Inspiration from the adversities that we ran into for Covid and many many problems that we faced, even for vaccination in the first place.

What it does

This website is regarding the healthcare and health solutions for us, here one can -
i)Note the details about Primary care, Variants of viruses & how important is to be Active and Fit by clicking through the Readmore section in Regular Fitness
ii)What should be followed for Preventing us from getting sick?
iii)One can book a slot for Covid Testing and even as they will be providing phone numbers while filling the form we will contact them for further reference and we will help them in getting the Booster dose by booking a slot for them.
iv)They can also contact us directly(present on the about us page) by letting us know what type of help they need, and even they can mail us to our personal mail id. Instagram, LinkedIn, and Github links are also provided for their reference.
iv)Book an appointment for a doctor (the services section present in Appointment is currently a work in progress).website

Challenges you ran into

We actually are not fully used to building backend, we are at a beginner level, so writing HTML & CSS is not a big deal for us the backend was truly tough for us in the first place, but we managed to build that taking information from google and youtube, which helped us a lot during the whole backend stuff.

First of all, it is our first Hackathon that we have done properly. So we faced many challanges.1. Lack of experience. 2. We research a lot about the topic. 3. Lack of resources 4. Lack of confidence. But we do our best in this hackathon.

Anything else?

The most important issue in website creation is ‘readability’. Readability refers to the practice of delivering the write up in a way that enhances ease of reading. While creating a great website, you should focus on making it readable for all users, regardless of their backgrounds and age groups.

A website’s readability includes three essential aspects –

a) Typeface
b) Layout or Design
c) Colors

People are used to reading these typefaces. Therefore, it is always advisable to stick to the main typefaces. Always choose a typeface which is clear on screen and is easy to read. The same goes with the layout of the content and text color. Create a content layout (textual presentation) which users can easily skim and scan.

Inspiration

The inspiration for this app came from the fact that people often forget to take their medicines on time and as a result, they suffer from various diseases.

This app will help the users remember when to take their medicines, how much to take and where to find them.

It will also provide information about the medicine such as its effectiveness, side effects, precautions and so on.

This way, it can help people manage their health better.

What it does

A medicine app is an application for a smartphone that provides information about the use of medicines. It can also be used to provide information about how to take medicines, what side-effects may occur, and when to seek medical help.

Challenges you ran into

There are many challenges that I faced while doing this project The most common ones are:

  • Insufficient time to complete the task

  • Insufficient knowledge about programming languages or frameworks for the task

  • Inadequate time to debug and fix errors in code

Inspiration

Inspiration of building this project.

During the time of pregnany moms need to take care of her and also a lot of documents like - prescriptions, reports and they also need to remember a lot of things like medicine updates, allergies (they might have), things what to do and what not do. And it becomes a lot hectic.

Also for every doctor visit they need to take a lot of previous reports, prescriptions and all other stuff. And there is no easy way of sharing them with doctor.

We have seen this problem and identified there is nothing in the market which specifically handles this situation. And it's our mother for whom we are here. So, why not build something which can solve a big problem for them.

What it does

What is prega.io?

Screenshot 2022-08-21 at 5 57 17 PM

This is an all in one documents storing and sharing platfrom specially build for your pregnancy time.

Let's understand what is prega.io by it's functionalities ⚡

  • Store all events and any updates of your pregnancy time!
  • Attach PDF's, images with every event and update.
  • Filter and esily find documents in a bunch of documents.
  • Make mom's profile which includes only the important data required during pregancy.
  • Share events, updates and documents with a single click.
  • Share your profile with all public documents with doctor or your loved ones in a few clicks.
  • Prevent your private documents from accident sharing just by a single click.
  • Take your privacy to next level by expireable profile links which you can build in just a few clicks.

📱 App Interface :

Main shared page! (Doctors and family can see this page until the link expires and access all public data!)

Screenshot 2022-08-21 at 5 59 05 PM

Features

  • Filter events & documents
  • See any PDF or image attached with the event/document
  • See the weeks from pregnancy and all updates.
  • See mother's profile and any health issue they might have.
  • Full responsive design.

Challenges you ran into

There are multiple things we got stuck and though it would not be possible and felt hopeless. But I am listing down some of them.

Building the filter functionality in the web version

We have planed to implement a nested filter functionality and that was one of the hardest thing to do. It took us almost 4 - 5 hour just to implement the nested filter.

Setting up Cloud Tasks

None of us used cloud tasks before so we had zero idea how to do that. Basically while building the expirable link system, the architecture we came up with that on every share a cloud function will make an instance of the Mom's data with along with all order and filters. And also setup a cloud task to delete that after sometime (Basically what user chooses).

And after that time the cloud task will trigger a delete function which will delete the document.

This whole thing is the hardest thing we have done in this 48 hours.

Flutter Error

The amount of error we ran into while building the Flutter App is just insane. Also a lot of time problem.

But above of all we learnt a hell lot of new things, while building this!

Anything else?

The public link is a shared profile link which will expire after 30 days (Just for preview).

You can see the web interface from there when a doc is shared. And sorry we are not able to add public link of the app. 😞

Inspiration

Facing numerous issues in school or college, We decided to understand what was going on. We found out that either management does not know what the problem is or are too constrained to work on the problem. So we decided to provide a platform for students to give their unbiased feedback on problems they faced. If our product is imposed by the government on institutes, the quality of education will drastically improve.

What it does

We take feedback for various aspects of the institute from registered students of that particular institute and run it through our machine learning program for sentiment analysis. That data is stored in our server for any type of data analysis to determine the problems faced by students across any/all institutes.

Challenges you ran into

  1. Since our goal was to get data out, our first challenge was figuring out how we would get to know the problems in a single or multiple institutes. Feedback forms would be an option but would get very limited data. So we decided to let the students tell us whatever they want to. We would run it through a sentiment analyzer and with a lot of data, we can figure out the problems.
  2. Errors, lots and lots of errors.

Anything else?

This project is far from being perfect.
We need to provide security and bigger datasets for the model to train and analyze sentiments more effectively.
A lot of UI improvements can also be made.

Inspiration

Ever since pandemic has started everything have been switched to virtual mode including health care. There are still many people now who have phobia in visiting hospitals due to rapidly spreading virus. The consultance that a person can get in an online platform is nothing less, in fact much better than visiting hospitals. With this inspiration we tried to come up with one stop destination for an ultimate health care assistance.

What it does

Currently Medibuddy has several features and many more are yet to be implemented to make it your full fledged personal health care assistant. This application is not just for patients any person feeling low can go through e-counselling. Now the application has the below listed features:

  • BMI Calculator : It calculates the BMI of a person
  • Counseling : Asks the user some questions according to which they are monitored.
  • photoplethysmogram (PPG) - Calculates BPM and shows Heart Rate using your phones Camera.
  • Predictions - Heart Failure , Breast Cancer (trained models to predict diseases)

Challenges you ran into

I ran into challenge while deploying the Machine Learning Models on Azure. Also I faced difficulty in fixing several bugs while developing the application and training the ML models.

Anything else?

It was a great experience collaborating with my teammate and creating something that would benefit the community as a whole.

Inspiration

With the popularisation of online education during the COVID-19 scenario, the internet was flooded with websites and apps that advocated secondary and higher-secondary education. But in the midst of it all, primary education was being neglected all along.
On careful traversal of the internet, we could not find one proper website or application or an organisation that is dedicatedly working to provide primary education on the internet, or even making attempts to create a free online collection of primary school material.
Education For All (EFA) was a global movement led by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), aiming to meet the learning needs of all children, youth and adults by 2015 but after the serious handicap that the pandemic brought, we all can say that primary education has been specially neglected and overlooked.
If the children of today don't receive adequate primary education, they might have serious difficulty to take up higher classes. Is this leap justified or does it even seem possible?
The problem got personal when I found my own aunt face serious trouble in keeping my five-year old cousin interested in her studies during the lockdown phase. EduFA(Education For All) was created with the vision to provide a single platform for advocacy of primary education through the free distribution of study materials among the parents and in the longer run, providing one-on-one support to them.

What it does

EduFA is a platform where anyone can come and upload any study material, pertaining to primary education modules, and upon subsequent verification by an admin that material will be made available on our website in the ‘Show Materials’ section available in the top left option bar.
The study materials can be in any format that is mentioned on the website and the uploading can be done anonymously, if the person uploading the material does not wish to divulge his information.
One does not need an account to access the uploaded materials on the website, thus forwarding our vision to provide free and hassle-free material for primary education.
Only the admin needs to login with specific credentials to verify the material that was uploaded to the website.
Going forward, we hope that EduFA will be able to emerge as a vast online repository for anything and everything related to primary education in the online scene.

Challenges you ran into

Firstly, ideating this endeavour and writing all the code within a span of 3-4 days was a great challenge for us.
There was also a big problem with uploading the database to the Azure system and that led to quite a delay in deploying the project and recording the demo video.
The current website is just a basic outline of what we planned the project to actually be, and even completing this within the time constraint seemed much harder than solving LeetCode hard problems.
Multiple errors with the frontend came to light even after the deployment of the website and having a perfectionist team leader who aimed to make everything picture perfect was a difficult thing to have in this hackathon scenario.
But even through all the problems and errors in life and in code, we did make sure to make the most of our time and enjoyed this hackathon experience as much as we could.

Anything else?

We aim to further improve the UI of the website along with including more interactive features for easier use of the website among the common masses.
We also look forward to developing EduFA as an online platform for the hosting of free, live interactive lessons and informative sessions on primary education.
Soon, we plan to include an open source blog where internet users can write blogs aimed at the guardians of the primary school students on how to impart essential education techniques in their homes.
In the long run, we also want to automate the entire blog and material approval process such that a ML model will be able to handle the approval of the materials in bulk by scanning their content
Our final aim is to popularize primary education in the online scene to a degree that secondary and higher secondary currently enjoy.

Inspiration

Inspiration

The inspiration for this project came from the horrific experiences of the locals of Australia who experienced first hand the destructive fury of Mother Nature who, claimed countless lives in the Great Australian Forest Fire and thus a need arose of a surveillance system to overview the forest so that such tragedies can be immediately reported and necessary precautions can be taken beforehand.

What it does

Fire Detection Model was made using Machine Learning with Python models such as Tensorflow, numpy, openCV, ImageDetection among other.

Over 100 files and 5000 steps to maximize accuracy.

The model can detect Major Fires upto 60% accuracy and Minor Fires upto 55% accuracy. Non Fire situations can be detected with 72% accuracy.

Challenges you ran into

  • First challenge was the lack of datasets containing pictorial information of fires.
  • Secondly we faced was the lack of trainable machines and thus we trained our own machine to classify fires.
  • Using google colab as a web based platform for our jupyter notebook which lacked the necessary RAM for our needs.

Inspiration

The idea behind this project is to make a website so interns can smoothly find their internships. Created a chatbot using cloud computing. I learned a lot of new things from this project and got hands-on experience. Thank you so much GDG for giving me this wonderful opportunity.

What it does

Students in the final year nowadays have to do the internships compulsory so this internschools+ is a platform providing them this opportunity to find the internships of their choice. If they got stuck in between they can use the chatbot for their query. They can register by uploading their resume with us so that can never miss an opportunity that matches their resume. They can also find training before doing any internship. So internschools+ is the best solution for those students looking for internships/training

Challenges you ran into

The chatbot that I created was not made in the first attempt. Because the resource that I had created at first was not working and the second time the link was not getting generated finally in the third attempt I made it and embedded the iframe tag that I have created to the visual studio code.

Anything else?

Thank you so much for giving me this wonderful opportunity.

We have tried numerous note-taking chrome extensions but they missed an essential feature of allowing the user to store images along with the notes. After a bit of research, we tried to develop our own extension.

What it does

It's full of amazing features that a note-taking application must have:

  • Allows searching through the extension itself, not necessary to open a new tab explicitly
  • It's multi-user. Uses chrome profile to differentiate
  • Allows adding images to the note
  • Timestamps help in better organizing the notes
  • Allows downloading the notes in HTML format to view
  • Also provides an option to download the png format of all your notes.

Challenges you ran into

Making all the features work perfectly in this time constraint. Making the notes downloadable in different formats was a bit of a challenge.

Anything else?

Nope, enjoyed this hackathon a lot😄. Wish to meet the participants and jury in person.

people generally build hacks to solve problems- 7 the ideas can be quite repetitive at times!
sometimes it can be seen that people build the same kind of hacks just to win prizes.
well, this hack is not about winning prizes or anything- it is a a basic website which redirects viewers to a motivational video which can be accessed using a qr code too!
it is most useful at times when u get stuck in the middle of a hackathon-who knows this might be a real energiser!

What it does

it is a bit challenging to explain I mean... you have to click on the link to find out!
nb-can be a quite annoying but laughable surprise-hope for the worst!

Challenges you ran into

finishing this with a 4hr sleep all day in the midst of clg internals & missing the initial deadline & hours of google research with youtube lagging.

I've seen many of my frontend friends try to make dynamic web apps without knowing any backend or API knowledge. What they do is they try to use the APIs mentioned in the tutorial they're following but most of them don't work or have rate limitations. So we tried to create a platform where you can quickly create APIs without any backend knowledge.

What it does

we tried to create a platform where you can quickly create APIs without any backend knowledge.

Challenges you ran into

  • time : this is a large project so faced the 40hr time issue
  • our app is better on local networks. for production we have to open multiple ports or create a lot of reverse proxy configs. Instead of a web app, we could have made a vs code extension but due to limited time and knowledge of making an extension, we failed.
  • we haven't added the authentication and authorization. If we want to allow multiple users then for each user we have to create a new reverse proxy but that's not a good solution. We think the optimised solution will be like if we create a new server which will hold all new proxies and we'll create pm2 nodes for each proxy but that would require a lot of experiments. Or we can make this a local area-based application like we mentioned in the vs code extension or windows application.

Inspiration

We have attended several in-person meetups and gatherings and, had an amazing time meeting new people. But each time we faced a difficulty that somehow we forget to ask for everyone's social links and connect with them. We thought to try to fix that for us. We wanted to build something that would make this seamless so that we can enjoy a great chat and at the same time we don't forget to connect.
Since we wanted to remove any interaction with our phones to avoid any distraction, we had to engineer a solution that would let us automatically share whenever we are physically nearby to a person. So we planned to make this hack to make networking more easy.

What it does

  • The app lets you log in with Google and add all your social links with more details like a bio and designation. It currently allows adding links for major social media platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, GitHub, and a Portfolio website. It has a toggle switch to change between two modes, Advertise mode and Discover mode.

  • The app opens with discovering mode by default which listens to any user advertising and accepts their data. By toggling the button, the user can switch to advertise mode that starts to advertise the user's information. This allows all other devices on discover mode to grab information shared by this user.

  • The page of Nearby-connections lists details of all the users nearby and shows their social links to let you open their profiles directly on your device. It also allow you add them to your connections so that you can also connect with them later. It also gives an advantage that if in future any of our connection updates his / her social profile then it also reflected in the app.

  • The Upcoming events page lists all upcoming meetups and gatherings where user can mark themselves attending. Each event shows the details and the names of people who marked attending so that you know who all to connect with.

Challenges you ran into

  • With the idea we wanted to implement, we first thought to use NFC(Near- Field Communication) but later realized that many devices do not have NFC in them. But nearby sharing is available, so we decided to switch and use Nearby Connections API.

  • Nearby Connections API has a requirement that both connecting devices accept a connection prompt in order to start communicating or sharing any data. But since we wanted to make the process seamless and less hassle, we wanted to reduce any interactions possible. So we came up with a solution that doesn't require the devices to accept any prompt and yet share the information smoothly.

  • In order to manage the state of a logged in user, we planned to use shared preferences but for some reason we were facing some serious issues of it returning null values. So we had to switch to getx package that worked fine.

Anything else?

With one day more, we decided to build a new feature to list upcoming events and then tested the app on multiple devices together. It was amazing to see "New Connection Found" pop-ups all at the same time. 😍

We wanted to share this experience with all and here is the video of it. Hope you love it too. ❤️
https://youtu.be/g3ctvtGuzR0

This project was a very random decision for all of us and we feel most of my friends will agree with this issue. And we took this opportunity to try to fix it. We faced a lot of issues and come up with better approaches within such a small time frame but I feel it's worth it.

Also to add to our inspiration to come up with this idea, our Anuvbhav da explained what the community track means and to look closely at the challenges GDG Cloud Kolkata faces. I faced the same issue of not having everyone's twitter handles and couldn't tag them all :')

We hope now we will not miss out on anyone and have a lovely time connecting with all at CCD 2022. ❤️

Inspiration

Web3 is currently a hot topic in the market. Even more important is how stable crypto currencies are and what their future price will be.

With a dash of FinTech, Machine Learning, and web3, we created the project StockCastery, which is a one-stop place for all your crypto watch, tracking, and prediction needs.

We used React to build the frontend, Material UI for style, Chart JS to construct the graph, Axios to fetch data from API, CoinGeko API for data, Tensorflow Framework & Keras Model to build the prediction model, Ski Kit Learn to analyse future data, and Vercel to host the website. And I'm very happy to share that we now have more than 70% accuracy across practically all crypto shares prediction, and we plan to strengthen this model in the next days.

Our approach is also open source, and our website is free. We do not require you to login or register. We are not requesting information about your wallet. The website is entirely free, responsive, and simple to use.

What it does

  • StockCastery is a live and trending cryptocurrency tracking service.

  • It displays the current price of your favourite cryptocurrency in real time.

  • It also forecasts your favourite cryptocurrency shares based on real-time data.

  • Our algorithm presently has greater than 70% accuracy, and we also consider other elements such as a sudden decline, unexpected strong increase, and so on when estimating pricing.

  • It includes graphs and details for each day data.

  • It shows market volume and crypto details as well.

Challenges you ran into

  • The first and most significant problem we encountered was developing an accurate and fast prediction model. The backend team worked tirelessly to develop a good prediction model and incorporate it into the site, which takes very little time to predict data after analysis.

  • The second difficulty was to create a responsive site while keeping all of the features we considered. The frontend team reviewed numerous materials and created a fully responsive site for this.

  • The third issue we encountered was backend deployment. Flask was used to build the backend. Fortunately, we discovered a site and created a sort of API. You can now send a post request to our backend link and obtain a prediction in a matter of seconds.

Anything else?

Inspiration

The lack of proper knowledge about which books we love or what are we interested in motivated us to make this book recommendation system. This can not just be used for entertainment but also for study purposes because a lot of student don't have the idea what to study and in which topic they are interested in.

What it does

The purpose of this book recommendation system is to predict buyer’s interest and recommend books to them accordingly.
"Recommend_NEW" can take into account many parameters like book content and book quality by filtering user reviews.

Challenges you ran into

A proper guidance was missing as we had 48hrs and we were really new to framework that we used(flask). But the developer community really helped us as there were a lot of resource to find our solutions from.

Inspiration

We have been working with web technologies from the start of our college. My(Diganta Kr Banik) first PR which was merged was to a project which focus on accessibility of the web. With that though, we decided to make something that would some how benefit people and make it easier for them to access web.
Upon exploring more, we saw how it can be difficult for people with dyslexia and color blindness to access the true power and beauty of the web. With that thought in mind, we decided to create Dino - a chrome extension that allows you to surf your favorite web pages the way you like! Dino helps adjust font sizes, colors, texts and even reads out the web page to you! So this is our small contribution to towards our friends with dyslexia and color blindness.

What it does

  1. FONT SIZE: Change the font size of the web page using the various sizes available.
  2. FONT STYLE: Change the font style of the web page from the selected dyslexia friendly fonts. Source : https://creativemarket.com/blog/best-fonts-for-dsylexia
  3. IMAGES: Remove Images, Read out alt texts of images.
  4. LISTEN TO THE WEB PAGE.
  5. Control colors on the page.
  6. Highlight links and paragraphs.

Challenges you ran into

This our first time working and building a chrome extension. Firstly, it took us some time to read and understand how extensions work and the ways to create them. A lot of time went into overcoming the connection problem between background files and content scripts.

Anything else?

We want to work on this project and further in later days bring more features and functionalities so that we can help our friends with dyslexia and color blindness. A special thank you to GDG Kolkata for providing us with this opportunity.

Inspiration

The post-Covid era has seen numerous changes in lifestyle of the common man.

  • People are restricted to their homes and they are unable to hit the gym for training.
  • Even the availability of doctors has reduced due to the pandemic.
  • Also in rural areas, medical attention isn't easily available due to lack of facilities.
  • Sometimes, amidst daily stress, people forget to take their medicines which can cause damage if medicine is critical.

What it does

We have designed an application which can:

  • Help people undertake fitness exercises at the comfort of their home and monitor how much calories they are burning and other physical parameters.
  • Predict the possibility of occurrence of a disease in an individual after receiving inputs on certain parameters using Machine Learning.
  • Send reminders to subscribed users regarding the medicines they need to consume at the stipulated time.

Challenges you ran into

We ran into several challenges while developing the project

  • Deploying open-cv model is always a challenge with the backend being in python. So we came up with the solution of creating an app.
  • Devising the SMS and email sending feature was also a problem since it was difficult to make the process automated by creating a database in a server.

Anything else?

It has been a great learning experience and the SMS and email sending feature which will get enabled soon will help many. Thank you for the opportunity.

Keeping and tracking the payment receipts, tax invoices, and other financial records can be a troublesome errand for many. Thus, to make financial record maintenance an easy job for busy individuals, FinTrack came into existence.

What it does

FinTrack is currently a web application that can fill in as a tool to facilitate users to segregate their expenses and incomes while getting the real-time report of their financial health. Users can also get a better insight into managing their finances more efficiently. Once the users integrate all the bank accounts with the application, the data automatically gets updated.

Inspiration

During COVID 19 pandemic, online education has become a common norm in schools and colleges, and students themselves are adapted to this online environment of education, as classes are being held in online mode, exams are also conducted online and students tend to cheat in those exams due to lack of security and no physical guarding by professors/teachers which is monitored live, so here is my solution to the problem! Now teachers can monitor students' live even in online mode !

What it does

Rectify - An automated online proctoring tool that uses facial recognition to detect activities of examinees live during the exam and report live analysis to the professor's dashboard

You can register both as a student or professor, you can create an exam only if you register yourself as a professor!

Professors can create exams by filling out the form, time and date, and exam duration! You can use google forms, Microsoft forms, or any other form link for the exam

There is a unique exam code generating button, on clicking it, a unique exam code is generated for that specific exam and can be shared with students to access the exam (the unique code is valid until the timing set by the professor)

As soon as you start the exam the face recognition models open up and start recognizing the face of the student.

Some features of the model are:-

  • Face Not Visible If you try to hide your face from the webcam move out of the frame it gives a warning after few seconds ,that your face is not visible
  • Multiple Face Recognition If more than one face is detected during the exam, the model detects it and action is reported to the professor.
  • Cell Phone Detection If any student tries to cheat via phone the model detects it and immediately reports it to the professor then and there
  • Prohibited Object Detection! Some prohibited objects such as books, any other laptop is also detected if any student tries to choose this way of malpractice

Other than that

  • Disabled Tab Change Tab changing is strictly monitored during the live examination, if any student tries to open any other tab, the model detects and reports it immediately to the professor that student is changing the tab as well as the number of times he changed

  • Disabled Copy/Paste If any student tries to copy any questions to search on the web it immediately detects and report it to the professor as control keys are disable

  • Professor can watch live status of the students of the ongoing exam by entering the unique code on his dashboard which was generated when the professor created the exam and can monitor student live from his own dashboard

  • Every action by each student can be seen on the professor dashboard live, professor can filter candidates by most numbers of times rules violated / sorting them on basis of names

  1. Dynamic Teacher's Dashboard
  2. Sorting and searching functionalites in Professor's Dashboard
  3. Return Back to exam within set time (done because if any student losses connection during the exam) he can return back to it.
  4. Exam creation dialog box which automatically copies generated exam code to clipboard

Challenges you ran into

  • Integration of the face recognition model to backend, testing out the model to check every features are working fine
  • Implementing dynamic logs lively monitored (with all changes) on the professor dashboard
  • Making the UI responsive, setting up the json web token authentication system, and hosting on Heroku

Anything else?

Some Future Aspects

  • Creating Exam Feature in the application itself, Instead of using a external link(google/microsoft forms),exam creation in the web-application itself would provide more security and better user experience to the product.
  • All class management activities (branch/section wise) separately for every year students, creating assignment in the application itself assigning tasks and keep a record of every student activites individually in different sections.
  • Video calling support between students and teacher for quick doubt resolve and better teacher to student interaction

Inspiration

Generally, when we order food online, the sole purpose of a delivery person is to earn their income through such sites by delivering food. This is often burdensome and consumes time, money, and fuel that may be saved through the idea that SendPie proposes - that is, to reduce the negative impact on nature while simultaneously helping people maintain a side income.

What it does

People are busy and always having the need to go from one place to another, on our way, don't we always get past some food shop or the other? What if we made it so, that we could add one more purpose to our journey, and that is to deliver food from the place we are departing to the destination we are headed at, reducing the fuel costs, saving fuel and effort which is often spent by delivery boys who are having one single purpose, to only deliver. SendPie enables anyone to take care of the delivery of food commodities, enabling efficiency and adding a side income for regular people.

Steps to be followed

Since we haven't included the sign up page yet, it is requested to login with the following credentials as per requirement.

Delivery Person

password : hello

Customer

username : sayan

Challenges you ran into

Issues I have encountered:

  • I wish I had access to an API which provided me data about the shops and their items which they provided with all the metadata and availability along with shop contact and address. The lack of this made us hardcode our data to a JSON file.
  • The lack of access to a payment gateway in such a short period of time.

The inspiration was none other than you, GDG Kolkata itself. I was wondering for a long time, whether to make a project or not, and now, GDG Kolkata comes with an amazing oppurtunity to showcase talents through building various things and chances to win perks too. This was like one time in a life time oppurtunity to me and my partner. So, basically thank you for being the inspiration and hope you like the project.

What it does

Twitter-Bot is an automation bot using Tweepy Module with Python. This replaces the use of Twitter API as it is costly and takes much time to get access to. You can use it to post tweets, like tweets, and retweet and reply based on hashtags.

Challenges you ran into

First, we ran into the problem of accessing the elevated access on the Twitter Development API playground. Second, there was a problem of running the code infinitely but I figured that out and then we were fine.

Inspiration

As a student I know the curriculum system & it inspires me to go out of the wall and make a new learning system.

What it does

Learning with fun is an integral part of education. There are many fun ways to learn new things like playing games, puzzles, reading books etc. The fun learning provides different perspectives for solving problems and helps children think outside the box.
In our Website "LearnWithFun" there are various Quizzes and Games that kids can play and make them practice in a vary interesting and creative way. It also teaches persistence, discipline, and goal-orientation skills. Children can explore their curiosity by experimenting with various materials in a hands-on way, leading them to develop a more creative mind.

Challenges you ran into

We are currently in our 3rd Year(5th Semester) pursuing our B.tech degree on Computer Science. We did not have the vast knowledge of either Javascript or Database. So it was the the biggest challenge for us to make this project in a very little time and also learn those both simultaneously and also maintaining college routine ,assignments and course study .
But at the end we did it and it was a wonderful learning course for us.
