Seems to happen with every installer except the EnterpriseDNAInstaller - 1.3.6.msi, but I'm trying to install MSHGQM.

Full error: Error 1001. Unable to get installer types in the c:\MicrosoftHatesGregsQuickMeasures.exe assembly --> Unable to load one or more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for more information.

It's not asking for elevated privileges or anything.

What am I missing?

My guess is if someone has never installed an External Tool then the installer fails because there is no path:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Power BI Desktop\External Tools

I also believe the above path is only if you chose "install everyone" option and maybe a different path for "install only me".

As a workaround I manually created the above path and the installer worked as expected.

This issue was corrected 12/9/2021, the current MSHGQM_Gamma.zip file contains the bug fix.

Is there any chance you can have a portable or a local user install version?
I attempted an install for 'you only' vs all users, and redirected the file path to a user dir, but I was still prompted with an admin login.
