As I've really liked the idea but I use mostly Firefox, I've created a
Firefox extension with this functionality.
I've uploaded it at https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/161941/
I hope that everything is correct because the AMO server has failed while
processing some of the data.
Notes: I've reused the App engine url as I didn't find logical to provide a
new one with the same functionality. I've also used the logo to provide the
icons for the extension. I hope that everything is OK, if not I'll change
whatever is needed.
Regards and thanks for this project.

I would like the Android app to keep a log of items it has received, with the

This is a proposal for a new feature:
I would like to be able to allow some people in my contacts to send me some
info directly to the phone.
First I must allow those contacts to send me info, this is strictly opt-in.
By default no one can send me anything.
In the browser extension, instead of a simple button they should be able to
select the destination: their phone, mine...
So the appEngine gets their request, verify that I've allowed them to
contact me and send me that info.
The Android App shows the notification showing who is sending me the info
and allowing me to launch it. That way it will be so easy to share links
that it will be almost incredible.

Enhancement Request
===================
Hi,
Would it be possible that the extension (Chrome/Firefox) could define
wheather that a link opens automatically or not.
E.g. A user sends a phone number, and they don't want the call to start
immediately, they can choose an option in the browser before they send it
so that it will only appear in the notification bar to remember to call
later.
The options from the browser would be Default (current setting, no
preference sent to server), Auto Open& Notify Only. The apk would have
ultimate control over what get's auto opened or not.
This would require changes to the extension, the server and the apk.

Hi,
Would it be possible to implement a reverse ChromeToPhone using the same
C2DM system?
I.E. Use can share link in their device browser with ChromeToPhone. The
link is added to ChromeToPhone's send queue.
When the user is in Chrome they have a second button for PhoneToChrome,
when clicked, sends a request to the application server, which in turns
send a receive message to device. The device then responds to the server
with the queued share links. The application server then pushes the links
back to Chrome where they appear in the pop-up box.
Yours,
Paddy

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(the extension seems to work for other people so I suspect you can't
reproduce my trouble)
1. Follow the setup instructions
2. Click on the chrometophone extension icon in desktop browser
3. observe pop-up that says "sending link to phone..."
4. observe that nothing happens on the phone
5. observe that there is no troubleshooting or diagnostic information given
on the desktop
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
o) If something is wedged, there should be diagnostic and troubleshooting
info given so I can tell what's wrong.
o) The extension should work as advertised.
o) There should be documentation explaining how to troubleshoot this
problem.
What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
o) Clicking "About Chrome to Phone" in the extension pop-up does nothing,
so I can't tell you what version I'm using. It's the version I just
downloaded this morning.
o) You don't even provide an "about" menu option in the phone app, so
there's no way for me to tell you the version there, either.
Please provide any additional information below.
o) user frustration threat level orange.
