It would be great to see subtitles during meetings. Maybe English for now, then other languages later

building a Linux version should be quite manageable with Electron.

As title, how can I switch to mini mode manually in Mac App after turn off Auto Mini Mode in setting?

Hey guys, sorry if this is the wrong place to report a bug but thought I'd try here. My company has had a recurring problem where a screen-sharer standing on a loudspeaker/podium tile will make gather crash for ALL users in the room if their computer runs out of battery, memory, or bandwidth.

It looks like this for everyone else when this happens:

Current Behavior
Hi! With the new update 0.2.1 which fixed the missing title bar bug introduced in version 0.2.0, is now (like in 0.1.7) showing a title bar in the Minimized Window. This makes it hard to move the window without resizing it. However, resizing it leaves a white gap, because there is inline css width: 180px; height: 120px; applied on the div wrapper of the minimized window.

Expected behavior
I believe there are a bunch of solutions to solve this in Minimized Window mode:

• The title bar getts hidden by setting the window to frameless and make the window itself draggable.
• Adjusting the default window width to have some place on the title bar to drag.
• The title bar gets replaced with a custom title bar, which has enough space to drag and branded/matching UI.

As an addition:

• The inline css applying the static width: 180px; height: 120px; could adjust dynamically with the window size to make resizing work. (selector: .ElectronGameCanvasSmall-body > div:nth-child(1))
• The menu bar gets disabled making the top thinner and decluttering the view.

Environment

• OS: Windows 11 Pro (Build 22579.ni_release.220315-1501)
• Version: 0.2.1

The frameless minimized window in version 0.2.0 had great aesthetics, was easily draggable and opened up by clicking on it (sometimes opened the settings). A pinch of rounded corners and a little shadow would make it a 12/10. 😅

Great work building this platform, love it. Looking forward to new features (pets and npcs 🔥).

On every start of the app for macOS, a new entry is created in the user account's Login Items, causing Gather to autostart after every boot/reboot. There seems to be no way to disable this behavior.

After update to 0.5.4 docking the gather.town window
or fullscreen by dragging the window does not work anymore.

I also use FancyZones as i have an ultrawide monitor (as 2 monitors configured)
and docking the window in to the zones doesn't work either.

Hi,

I'm using setting: Desktop > Minimode > Auto Mini Mode

1. App is in Maximized State
2. Changing to a different app, doesn't open up minimode.
3. When then clicking somewhere on the map of the gather app, it changes the map into mini mode, but the surrounding Windows window with the title still stays maximized.
4. Double clicking into the map again, correct the behaviour and the app is in minimode.

Some kind of weird behaviour.

• When in windowed mode minimode seems to work correctly when focusing an other application.
• Another thing i have noticed, when in windowed mode and change to minimode, how do you come back to the windowed state a before, double clicking on the minimode app maximizes the window...

Hey team!

The windows gather app has definitely been improving over the last year. Much thanks for that. Here is my feature request:

"As a user, when I modify another individuals volume it should preserve that volume setting for them across all rooms"

We have one or two users who have very loud mic volumes that are jarring whenever they join a room and every time individuals have to adjust their volume per client.

since somewhere around version 0.7.x i'm missing the release notes.
It would be nice to know what you have changed before i update to a new version.

Depending on the changes i would skip certain releases.
The last few releases where a bit "bumpy" in sense of stability.

No knowing what should happen after a update is a bit like russian roulette ;-)

With the new 0.2.0 version, the application window has no upper border anymore, so no change to grab the window and move it around.

System:
OS: macOS 12.2.1 21D62 arm64
Host: MacBookPro17,1
Kernel: 21.3.0

I have a large monitor divided into two screens.
Since some versions back i could use minimode on both screens.

Now it minimizes on the default screen i cannot move it to the other one.
Before that it also minimized on the screen gather was open.

This is a huge problem in working, as i can not use the mini mode as needed.

In relase 0.1.6 share screen stop working.
Even with the correct permissions. I'm using the mac version.

I've downgraded to version 0.1.5 which works normally.

For those who have this issue, just log using your email, it will still works since they juste send you a unique code by mail

Is there currently any push to talk functionality / can this be added?

Its a great QOL feature that popular desktop voice programs use like Discord.

This morning I applied the automatic update on my Gather client on Windows, and it appeared to delete all the application files under C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Programs\gather-electron`. The only file in that directory was an "Uninstall Gather" shortcut file.

I downloaded the releases manually, and both 0.3.15 and 0.3.16 show this issue. 0.3.14 is unaffected (though I get an auto-update notification, and I suspect updating again would result in the same behavior when I update to the affected versions).

Motivation:
I wanted to have some space around to build in every direction, so i thought the center of all gives me freedom.

Steps:

• Create a new room
• On the map go to the center (x: 1500, y: 1500) (other tryout: x: 500, y: 300)
• Give it a floor (i made a 4 pixel floor)
• Click on "Done"

What happens:
Screen gets grey, the " Loading... " element shows up... and never ends.
After 6-7 minutes i have to open up task manager to kill gather

If i just create the room and put in some floor right there where it opens in the map, it works.

Edit:
First encountered in Windows App and made most of the tryouts there. I also switched to the browser,
just in case it is an app problem. I tried it there only once and it didn't work either.

I'm running gather desktop (0.1.6) on OSX 11.6 with Apple Silicone (M1) CPU and I only have a blank "non-icon" on my menu bar for gather.

Menu is working properly, but no icon is shown, neigther in dark-mode.

When someone sends a direct message or a message in a channel, you get a desktop notification. Sometimes when I click on it, nothing happens. Other times, it focuses Gather but changes the window size when doing so. Sometimes it focuses Gather but doesn't show the chat panel.
