bambustudio_tools's Issues

How should I debug bambudiscovery.sh?

I hope you wouldn't mind giving me a pointer to get this working?
I have a couple of overview questions, if I may?

  1. Port 2021/udp. I think the port is open, but only when Studio is running? Is this expected?
This is nmap with Studio running:
Starting Nmap 7.92 ( https://nmap.org ) at 2023-10-17 14:41 BST
Nmap scan report for localhost (127.0.0.1)
Host is up.

PORT STATE SERVICE
2021/udp open|filtered xinuexpansion1

Nmap done: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 2.12 seconds
Gzunder:~ #

... and again without Studio running:

Starting Nmap 7.92 ( https://nmap.org ) at 2023-10-17 14:45 BST
Nmap scan report for localhost (127.0.0.1)
Host is up (0.000044s latency).

PORT STATE SERVICE
2021/udp closed xinuexpansion1

Nmap done: 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 0.10 seconds
Gzunder:~ #

If the port is only open when Studio is running, should bambudiscovery.sh be run AFTER Studio?

Zerotier VLAN

Hello,
I have a very specific network architecture. I have a local network at home with a Linux pc where the Bambu Studio is running behind am openwrt router. This dedicated pc is on a zerotier network.
On the opposite site where the Bambu X1C is working there is another openwrt router, which is also the part of the same zerotier network and all the connected devices behind, including the bambu printer is routed into the zerotier network, so I can ping the local ip of the printer from my remote pc where the Bambu Studio is running.
But the Bambu Studio cannot see the printer when I'm running the script. Maybe you can help me what I need to do. Firewall is turned off on the pc.
Thanks for the help in advance.

pgrep - process name

Just a minor issue in that the process name is "Bambu Studio" without the dash.

Other than that it appears to work as expected when the printer is on a vlan.

Strange issue since mdns reflection should take care of this. I noted the broadcast from the printer is making it from vlan to lan and BambuStudio is responding correctly via mdns but thats where it stops without your fix. I guess this falls under rule 25 "Never argue with success".

Firmware breaks the script

I had the script working with the initial firmware but after updating the firmware to 01.01.02.00 Bambulabstudio can no longer connect to the printer. Any ideas?

Immediate disconnection?

With your script I am able to connect to my printer (A1) through bambu studio for 5-10 seconds but it quickly disconnects.

Have you experienced this?
