rapier's Issues

Possible bug in Kodi home screen background(showing icons)

I just updated my skin by downloading the .zip file from the jarvis branch(since I'm using jarvis) after the #21 bug was fixed.
When I went back to the home screen I noticed that certain icons seem to be loading into the background.

Icons like the actor icon or genre icon etc.
Here a screenshot of what it looks like exactly. They also change every few seconds or so.
Might be me messing something up. I did reboot kodi, however I didn't reboot the entire system

EDIT:
My global background image setting is set as follows:
Single Image
Stock background
50% brightness

EDIT2:
After a system reboot the bug remained

caps fonts dont play well with cyrillic characters

hi there

thanks for making this great skin, I love it

I noticed a small font issue, it seems that caps fonts dont play well with cyrillic characters, here some screenshots:

changing font to arial in appearance -> skin -> folts did not help

so, as a workaround, I replace default-caps / default-caps-bold / default-caps-light with default / default-bold / default-light fonts:

EDIT: using your testing repo with kodi 17.

Can't disable Autocompletions for keyboard

Issue:
I don't want the 'feature' from the title: Autocompletions for virtual keyboard.; my tv doesn't need to send everything I type to the cloud! Right now, every time a text input dialog opens, there is an annoying popup that I have to dismiss telling me that I have to install this addon to get a feature. It's THEORETICALLY configurable...

However, in the Skin Settings, when attempting to click the 'Enable Autocompletions For Keyboard Dialog' to disable it, it give me the same annoying popup that I want to avoid 'Add-on required: Autocompletions for virtual keyboard'.

This is.... bad. I can't disable the feature that uses an extra add-on I don't want without INSTALLING THE ADD-ON I DON'T WANT.

Please actually allow this to not be used.

BTW, I've been using Rapier for years and it's always been my favorite skin. I kind of hate Kodi without it. This year I set up a new machine and installed Kodi 20 and this new version is the first that has ever given me issues, so thank you for many years of prettifying my media viewing experience.

less of an issues, more of a question for another project I am working on.

I am working on a service/addon for my nintendo switch build, and was curious about 2 things. number 1. can you point me to the block of code in the skin stuff that handles the drop down lists. This is the only skin that I have seen that does this.

and 2. how do the custom options for home screen work. You can set up custom views, but I have found them to be about useless. If I can work the code I want into the backend plugin in python, and then work the rest into the skin directly, that would be nice.

I only ask, as the documentation is convoluted at best, and kodi isnt something I have spent a lot of time skinning, but I want to be able to display realtime stats on things like the joycon connection status, and battery levels for controllers detected, etc. Might also add bluetooth/wifi setup stuff. Most of the backend code is easy enough, I am just not ontop of this guilib stuff for kodi, and not exactly sure how to interact with it. I can easily fill a basic list with data, but after that, I have no idea how to pass that back to the script as well...... But I digress, for now, I guess getting the UI xml right for what I am trying to do will be good for me.

Cannot Launch Video Addons From the Addons Home Screen.... and a couple of smaller issues

First off, Awesome skin...... love the work you have done here. The main issue I have found with this skin, is that on the addons home screen, you can select Video addons in the addons home screen widget, but you cant launch them. In the Music addons box underneath, everything works perfectly.

Second issues is that the visualization selector, doesnt populate the list. So if using a visualization like shadertoy, which has many options, you cannot change them, as there is nothing in the list.

All of this was tested with Kodi 18 rc5

Music Home Screen Section Not Showing Music Addons

When I try your skin with all included dependencies I noticed none of the music addons are listed. I check installed addons and it says they are disabled and wont enable no matter what I do. I have done a fresh install of kodi 15.1 and 15.2 RC3 with only one music addon installed. Nothing else is installed other then your skin and 181fm music addon. I hit music cat. button on home screen or addon and it goes black screen then hit esc to go back to home screen because nothing happens. I have even enabled music library with no success. I am lost on how to resolve this issue. I tried disabling music category and creating a new one using music preset and the same happens also, black screen when selecting the addons listing. Any suggestions?

KODI 18 LEIA RC5. Clean doesn't work

I have setup a sub menu with UPDATE and CLEAN

UPDATE works as it should, however when you setup the same for CLEAN it doesn't execute the CLEAN code for some reason.

Executing CLEAN from the SETTINGS, MEDIA menu is the only way to do it.

Cheers

Kodi crashes when looking for artist info

Kodi v19, Matrix, on Windows 10.
See attached logs.

When looking for artist or album info, in music section but did not test it otherwise, Kodi crashes completely. Usually not after looking up information for one, but after 2 or more.

My guess that it has to do with the, required, extendid info script. The latest version of this script is for Kodi v18, Leia, please see here.
It also happends when I am not looking for extendid info but I guess you pre-cache the info so the info is there if I click on it.
This also results in a full list of search history entries in the Youtube addon.

For me personnaly I can very well live without this functionallity and don't mind it being removed until a new version of the extendid info script that supports Kodi v19, and up.

But, it's my guess. It might be another reason totally :-)

Breadcrumbs are only partially working

Hi,

I'm just testing your skin and I'm impressed about its look and functionality. Great work!
One thing, I noticed: In the breadcrumb bar, only the home icon is selectable. So, any deeper level than home cannot be reached.
See one of your screenshots, where I added a red box:
image
I can select the home icon but, I cannot click on or even highlight 'MOVIES' or '2012'.
Is this an issue or by design?

Thanks and best
