accountabill's Introduction

Accountabill

Live on Heroku (might take up to 30s to load because Heroku archives seldom visited sites)

Accountabill is an Open Source web application that provides a list of State Representatives and Senators based on a user's zipcode. A user can look at campaign contribution data for their Congress person for the latest election cycle. Information about contributing sectors, industries, individual vs. PAC and top contributors is available.

Built in 8 days, this web app is the final project of five newbie software developers graduating Dev Bootcamp.

Accountabill uses the Congress v3 and Influence Explorer APIs from the Sunlight Foundation.

What's Next

As of March 22nd we want to get the Twitter functionality up and going (so a user can tweet at their Congress person), investigate D3 display bugs and improve test coverage. Alternatively, take a look at the Issues section to see how you can help.

accountabill's Issues

No Photos

Some of the politicians still don't have photos...

Test Issue

Testing if Taiga is tied to Travis CI

Politicians showing up while not in Office

Politicians should not show up while not in office, we should make a check within our server that determines if they're whether or not they're actually in office and then doesn't render them

Tooltip disappears

Tooltip disappears on Chrome & Safari on iMac behind nav bar. Even when reducing browser window size to be smaller than laptop (as no issue appears on laptop), tooltip disappears. No flashing at least.
