Is there a way to provide a custom icon for the selected output device. For example, use a Jabra icon if a Jabra Speakerphone is the default output device.

Also maybe clicking on the icon on the left can reveal the audio group instead of the arrow?
As the arrow takes up a lot of vertical space.
Maybe there can be an arrow on the icons with a group?

I would like to be able to change the output device of each application through the UI.
same as through System -> Sound -> App volume and device settings

I was wondering, is there a particular reason why the download for this is only available through the windows store? I am a user and fan of the app, but I am removing all apps from my system that rely upon the windows store -- any chance that we could get a download version that is available outside of that arena? I'd be happy to provide a mirror for it if necessary.

If I select the window or OSD to display on the external monitor connected to my laptop,
The volume window just shows up in the upper right corner of my laptop monitor,
And the OSD shows up in very weird locations on the external monitor.

I don't know if this is interesting for the developer team but there is a use-case with HeSuVi https://sourceforge.net/p/hesuvi/wiki/Help/ or similar software where it is important to be able to adjust volume of Not your primary audio device.

To use HeSuVi or some VST plugin host I need to select for example https://vb-audio.com/Cable/index.htm as my output device (which does not support volume adjustment) but the actual sound comes out from another, not-virtual audio device.

At the moment Volume2 is the only program that partially solves this by linking volume adjustment of 2 selected devices, but unfortunately Volume2 is far from optimal for the task and also causes a lot of issues on my system (probably too advanced).

The exact request is, if possible please add:

• option to adjust volume of ALL output devices in sync with the primary output device.
• It would be nice to also add exclusion list which devices should not get their volume adjusted.

Note that

• by adjusting All devices in sync, it should be trivial to use any volume control shortcut or input device and still get the expected result.
• by having exclusion list you would automatically control any new/changed devices as well. For people who move computer and connect different sound cards it is a pain to always change settings to a different real audio output device.
• Controlling volume for just 2 or 3 selected devices is not a great alternative because I personally switch between at least 6 audio output devices and not all of them are connected at the same time (most software resets your settings for a device which is no longer connected). Plus Nvidia drivers love to add new HDMI audio devices from time to time :) .
• it is possible that some of the audio devices lock or reset their volume to 100%. It can happen when a new device is connected to a computer or maybe the device driver does not allow any volume adjustment. This is the tricky part. Volumey would need to make sure to ignore requests to jump to 100% volume unless current volume is already at ~90%. Then if some device always tries to raise set volume to 100% or never accepts volume change even by 1%, those devices should be automatically set to excluded.

Many closed applications show and remain duplicated in the list even after closed.
Such as "audiodg" and "browser".
"browser" is the worst, for duplicating three times.
These applications won't disappear until Volumey is restarted.

I use a capture device to input my turntable in my computer so I can listen to vinyl records while working. However, I would like to have the possibility to quickly mute this input, for example when participating in a meeting/call. In the meantime, I can use the volume down function then use volume up when my call end, but having the ability to mute it would be really great!

I just installed the program, everything work fine but when i play cs the program just no respond then crash

Just like mappings for increasing and decreasing volume, the ability to map muting hot-keys would be beneficial. Alternatively, having a system mute that toggles the "speaker mute" (not sure what it's actually called) radio button for all apps would solve the issue I'm having.

Can you please increase the range of vertical and horizontal indent of this box?

when I play a game the hotkeys for Spotify wont work. I already tried starting it in Admin or giving it more Priorities, but nothing worked. I also dont know if there is any chance to do this, because I think that the games dont allow these hotkeys because of AntiCheat or something else. I hope you can help me with this problem. But the programm overall is realy nice. Or is there a Problem with the Microsoft store version?

After installing this app ModernFlyout got disabled and I had to run it again.
Also if you check the Ink Workspace app, the design and colors are the same as Windows 11 but Volumey is a bit different from Windows 11 app ( the colors, opacity and the opening effect
It's better if they feel like it's part of Windows 11.

When the lever is "ON" I can use hotkeys for ex. "PowerToys" in Windows. But when it's "OFF" I can't. And then I can use duplicate hotkeys in Volumey. Is this really how it's supposed to work? For me it feels it should be the other way around. Am I wrong?
And I want to use all hotkeys in Windows And be able to have duplicate hotkeys in Volumey - is that possible?

The Volumey window only opens on the monitor which is set as the main display. It would be nice to be able to specify on which display the window should appear, or at least remember the last opened position.

Hi,

since a few months Volumey randomly will either freeze (tray icon is there but does not react) or silenty crash/quit.
If its frozen I just terminate it in the Task manager, then when started again it will work normally again until such time when it will randomly dissappear.

I think the issue(s) correlate to changing audio devices and/or time running as I never notice it freezing/crashing and just find it either frozen or gone after some time away from the PC.
When adding/removing an audio device I sometimes can get it to freeze.

I believe this issue started happing after some bigger Windows 11 Update in April/May since I never noticed any issues before.
Any way I can provide some logs?

Running Windows 11, Intel i9-12900K with E-Cores disabled, Nvidia RTX 3080Ti.
normally using USB DAC, sometimes using HDMI for audio.
No sleep enabled, system is always awake/responsive

1. Add possibility to open/close app when click on icon
2. Add possibility to hide app from taskbar
3. Add possibility to use minimal app interface (only volume with apps, without any settings and buttons)

Using "SystemParameters.VirtualScreenHeight" and "SystemParameters.VirtualScreenWidth" will not work when using multiple monitors. As the monitors don't form a simple rectangle.
Screens can have different resolutions and positions.
Same for the "(this.Left + this.Width) > 0" check, it does not consider a multi monitor setup, when moving it "off screen" it might just be on another/second monitor on the left so "this.Left" will be negative and the check will return false, resetting the position even though the window was visible, just on another monitor.

Window position resets when moving the Volumey window to another monitor and then reopening it.

Example case:



(in my particular case I'm using two 2560x1440 monitors but monitor 2 is still the primary monitor, I just moved the taskbar)

at my machine (win11) the hover text for Volumey is "ToolTip".
Would be nice if it were Volumey or somewhat like the default one {audio device} - {volume}

I use your program when playing games, but OSD notifications can't appear when the game window is active, so I want to choose the second monitor for this OSD notifications.

When the volume is reduced to zero, if a different volume has been set for the left and right speakers, the balance is reset to zero on both.
It is suggested that when moving from 1 to 0, instead of lowering the volume, use the mute parameter, which does not reset the balance

Great app! Not sure if you're taking feature requests, but here is one just in case. ;)

I got headphones and speakers. Would love to bind a hotkey (e.g. F4) to switch between the output devices. I was thinking a simple toggle function, but I guess you could also extend it to be to specific devices for a hotkey as well.

When the "Volume mixer" section is visible, there is no clickable way to switch output devices. If there was, it would allow us to hide the original sound icon completely and save some space!

Currently, when changing the default output device utilizing the right-click context menu or using a hotkey, only the default output device changes, not the default communications device.

Maybe adding a toggle in the settings to include default communications device when changing default device could work. I only suggest this because certain windows apps like to use default communications device rather than default output device when outputting audio.

This program is by far the most useful I've ever downloaded on my computer, but unfortunately the software still doesn't recognize the side buttons on the mouse :(

When using the software I seem to have duplicate icons and volume controls when I only have one instance open for some software such as zoom or flow launcher?

I was wondering if you could make it so I can use the same short cut on multiple applications. ( For example for Games, Video players, Voice call programs ). This is probably not the right place to add suggestions so please tell me where I would normally would have to add suggestions.

I have been using this program for a while and I think it would be much more convenient to be able to put the same macro to switch between 2 audio outputs instead of using a macro for each device

I have my hotkeys set to something different than the default (F4) and while they are still functional, they are not reflected in the settings after a sign out / restart.

It would be a nice feature to be able to change the master volume by scrolling on the tray icon

I use this on another PC and love it (most of the time). I wanted to add to my personal PC.

I am getting "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item" error dialog. Both when opening from store and when opening as administrator from start menu.

F3 is for my monitor's speakers.
When I set it up it works fine, but after a while, it stops working, while F4 still works.
Then I remove it and it works again.

Any ideas what I can do so I don't need to search Volumey every time it stops working?

Hi, I had a couple of feature requests for the mixer.
I am using the mixer on an external monitor as an always present volume osd.

1. Ability to pin the mixer to the desktop
   (Currently the mixer randomly closes or resets to the position on my first monitor when the system wakes up from sleep and sometimes when I change my bluetooth audio device etc.)

2. Option to have the mixer open in the pinned location (mentioned above) on startup.
   (Currently have to open the mixer and place it on my second screen on every boot)

3. Have volume changes show in a pop up OSD for individual apps.

Hope you consider adding some of these.

Minor bug but I'm not getting an icon for some apps (in my fairly limited use, only Genshin Impact). The icon does show up in the volume mixer in Windows 11 settings and in EarTrumpet's mixer.

i use a little tool i've written years ago in Delphi with just the function to Increase/Decrease the Volume of the
"Currently active Foreground Window" with a Hotkey.

Maybe you can add this to your App because it seems very easy to do as your code already got ALL what is needed :D
Just grab the ProcessID of the Foreground App and then the ProcessName from the ProcessID like this:

I absolutely love your application. Is there any chance you could add the option to change the generic speaker icon in the sys tray to the icon of the currently active output device? It would be super handy to able to see at a glance which output device is currently selected, before "pressing play".

Whenever I put my PC to sleep or just let it idle into sleeo, when I wake it back up it has closed. I've looked at my power settings and nothing indicates that any app should close when putting my PC to sleep. If this is an issue with my PC then any help is welcome but I am still wondering if it's the app. Anyone else have this issue?

It would be great if you could add global hotkeys for Play/Pause, Next and Previous.

I use a dedicated PC for home music playing. Volumey is started at boot.

My audio PC system has multiple music sources. Amazon, Pandora, Logitech Media Service, a turn table for vinyl and, Good ol' Winamp. Each of these requires different volume level settings to provide a constant output level. The Amazon Alexa app always defaults to 100% volume and it needs to me manually set to about 30% to match the other sources.

I am therefore wondering if Volumey could not have a setting to save its current settings on request and to read them at boot or any other time via Settings.

OSD notification only show when volume has changed for now, how about show notification when default device changed?

It doesn't need to be hidden behind a dropdown menu as it has only one option.
Instead, the icon for the option can be directly used in the place of the gear icon.
And maybe a tooltip can be used for the text?

A function so it behaves like the default volume slider or any other of these icons.
