Tried it by setting a codeArea.setMouseOverTextDelay(...) with like 50 ms, and then using mouse enter/exit event for keeping a var with the current character which I can then verify on mouse click but couldn't make it work reliable since clicking on the CodeArea generates a MouseOverTextEvent.MOUSE_OVER_TEXT_END event for some reason, even when you are still over the character and then the onMouseClicked event always find that you aren't over any char.
