It would be great if there was a way to specify a specific collection for the RSS feed instead of just all public posts.

• Enable CloudFlare caching
  • Set pertinent HTTP caching headers

In that case, bypass any caching.

I just can guess the problem comes from a combination of "!" and "new line" or just some type of "new line" but in some case, the generated feed is not well formed : with two "BS" ��. You can see the result here, throwing aXML parsing error: <unknown>:43:47: not well-formed (invalid token) error :

I have forked that app and trying to get it working with a few different hosting sites (Heroku and Joyent) and having problems. Who are you using for a hosting service?

Hello.
How many times the feed gets cached into the server ? I mean, hwon many times it get before receive updates ?
And did the server block response after 'X' requests/day ?

• Start storing hits in memory. Move them to the DB afterwards (a new hits column in the existing cachedFeedItems table could be enough but create a new table if reads performance is affected).
• Update every n hours.

SOME (but not all) of my timestamps are off by 12 hours. A post at 8:07am this morning is marked as 8:07pm last night. However, a video I shared last night at 8:28pm is marked correctly as 8:28pm.

This is currently being done at the app layer but not at the HTTP one.

stale-if-error header looks like the right approach but Cloudflare doesn't support it.

As of around April 20th 2018, http://plusfeed.frosas.net/ stopped delivering rss from any G+ account I was following. Older post are still displayed, but I guess they're cached? Probably a G+ evolution?
