I think they're probably indicative of a design problem that should be fixed, but I don't know what or how.

The github pages docs say there's no support for redirects at the server level, but instead recommend using the jekyll-redirect-from plugin, which generates a static html page with enough metadata that it's effectively considered a redirect by search engines, and it's not too bad for browsers.

I think cms7 should have the same feature. If this sounds acceptable I can look into implementing it.
