Issues with Digispark setup. Link cable to MIDI (5-pin)

Hi, I've followed the guide and flashed the build.sh successfully but I can't seem to get the cable to work.

When I hit play from my midi device, nanoloop doesn't respond. The LEDs on the digispark stay lit up.

If I hit play from Nanoloop, the LEDs blink to the BPM set in Nanoloop. As expected, nothing happens on the MIDI device.

Any idea what might be going on? I've checked continuity for all connections.

Link Cable to MIDI Cable Sync issues

I am unable to get my devices to sync with this setup. I'm running a MIDI cable to a LINK cable with the digispark in the middle.

It doesn't seem like the digispark is reading the clock signal from my MIDI out (multiple devices). I've verified that these devices do sync clocks when going from MIDI to MIDI. One of the devices I'm testing with is an AKAI XR20. Every second time I press the STOP button on it, nanoloop will advance one quarter note, but otherwise they do not seem to be communicating.

My Monologue sends START and STOP signals fine. It will advance nanoloop one quarter note for every 3 bars of 16th notes it plays. HOWEVER, it only does this if step 1 and 16 are enabled on the monologue for both NOTE and SLIDE values. Otherwise they do not seem to talk.

Any idea as to what might be going wrong? I've tried to read thru the code for this project for clues, but I'm not having much luck.
