Hello,
I created a specific role for smc-python and I check "Manage Administrators",
that fix this issue
from fp-ngfw-smc-python.

this "Manage Administrator" right is mandatory to access to details about defined users.. (that is used by smc-python)

Thanks for the answer. Enabling this permission indeed makes the API client work as intended.
Did I miss this information in the documentation or is it absent? I believe it definitely should be included somewhere.

No it is an issue in SMC but at least it is a workaround for you.
