Please try the patch again.. It now has 10.11.6 support, if it didn't already had this before :)
I have no idea what can be wrong.. I have this problem on my Mac as well and also at work on my windows desktop..

I experienced the same issue. it was unaffected by the laptop display being on/off. I shut off SIP, unpatched, patched, turned SIP and so far its working again.

@cvk14 ah, interesting I have the same periodic disconect issue, and never turn on SIP again.
Maybe that's the root evil.
